Battle of Trenton

In the Battle of Trenton the Americans got more powerful and wiser. Before this war the Americans were just towns people, they had no money, little to no supplies unlike the British who were strong and powerful even from the start. During the war the Americans got over the river before the Hessian's. The Americans traveled there overnight when the Hessian's were sleeping so they didn't know they would be there. So when the Hessian's showed up the Americans captured the Hessian's and took all their supplies including food, weapons, boots, etc. When the Americans captured the Hessian's they took their supplies that they needed to survive but after they did that they killed/injured most of the Hessian's they captured. When the Americans did this they now had supplies that they didn’t have before but needed, they also killed more Hessian's than Hessian's killed Americans which means the Americans have a more powerful army for the rest of the war.
- nora corcoran

The British go to Yorktown to fight for NYC, the Americans and French follow them. The Americans surrounded the British, after the British were all out of weapons they finally surrendered. And since it was 2 against one (French, American) the Americans and the French had more weapons, food and even more people. 8,800 American troops, 7,800 French troops and 6000 British troops. After the war, America became their own better and stronger colony. They felt proud. You may ask, How do you know? This war win made them feel proud and earn leadership and later have more and more people that will start looking up to them. They had empathy and never gave up even if they had not won. This claims that America felt proud of themselves and build a better and safer Colony. -mariee

Valley forge was helpful to winning the war because the American army was trained and quartered. Valley Forge was a winter camp that American soldiers stayed at for the winter. It was not the best place, but they had somewhere to stay. It was helpful because American ragtag forces were trained and became skilled. The people at Valley Forge were also given more supplies. The American army were still great forces, but now that they were trained, they would be even better. Later in the winter the Americans felt more confident by more recruits coming to be trained. In conclusion, the camp at Valley Forge helped the Americans win. - Brian

The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point in the American Revolution. It gave the Patriots a major boost and persuaded the French, Spanish and Dutch to join their cause, against a rival. General Burgoyne and the British march through the New York Wilderness to meet part of the army in New York City. Americans used new tactics during the battle.

A group of American soldiers are ordered to take position on Bunker Hill but take position on Breeds hill instead. They wanted to shoot down on the British vessels entering the Boston harbor. It's better to have the high ground. Then, a large group of British soldiers are advancing up the hill. They fail to attack them and go back down. They repeat this another time and are unsuccessful. The third time the Americans are low on ammo and give the hill up. After that, General George Washington takes command of the American army. - Brian Gibbs
