Convinced that  the empire was too big for one person to rule, Diocletian divided the empire. He ruled the eastern half to the empire and named a co-emperor to rule the west. </div>]]></description>

Constantinople also moved the empire's capital to the east into what is now Turkey. He built a grand new capital city there. The new capital was called Constantinople which means "the city of Constantine."</div>]]></description>
