GOALS FOR THORNWOOD IB

*Complete 100% of required curriculum work for reauthorization by summer 2025 (essential).

*Have 80% or more of TW IB staff trained at level 2 or higher.

*Increase student awards by 25% from last year. Funding required.

*Continue to grow and recruit students for the full DP program as well as encourage a la carte options thus promoting IB values.

*Provide a pre-IB cohort opportunity for qualifying freshman and sophomores to ensure better preparation for their junior and senior year in IB with fewer schedule conflicts.

*Increase student scores through in-depth data analysis of individual classes and individual exam components through ongoing meetings and professional development.

*Increase student scores by retaining IB teaching staff that is committed to improving each year through continued IB professional development and data analysis of their course.

*Develop further partnerships with sender schools to provide opportunities for incoming students and families to be informed about the IB program and benefits.

All Thornwood IB students will be enrolled, enlisted or employed upon graduating from the IB program.

*IB will work closely with the college and career readiness school counselor to ensure students are provided ample opportunities to research, apply, visit, and seek information regarding enrolling in college and university.

*IB will continue to invite members of the military to speak to our IB students at Thornwood and provide students the opportunity to seek out information and connections in the community that can lead to post high school enlistment.

*IB will invite guest speakers who can provide insight and information about gainful employment upon graduation. We will take an annual field-trip to work-based job sites that can provide employment opportunities for post high school students.

*Monthly IB team meetings to highlight gems and opportunities. I will encourage teachers to share a strategy each month on a rotating basis based on analysis of curriculum and data.

*Continue IB PD opportunities to create connections with other teachers world-wide to help grow content knowledge and mastery.

*Summer Content IB/Course Institute to work on curriculum alignment and ATLAS
