They felt as though it was immoral.

But as theater began to develop the Church eventually turned to and helped to develop and carry out more a accurate representation of their beliefs. The plays were used to celebrate popular religious stories such as the resurrection.

By the 12 and 13th Century 
The plays had separated its self from the churches holds and were taken over by the guilds. The term that is now used to define this art form is known as Drama Evangelism.

  • It gives an opportunity for Christians to use their talents for God

  • It helps members to think about what they already know, and refresh their memory line
  • A non regular church visiter more willing to visit a church to view a dramatic presentation verse a regular sermon

  • Creativity- The writer of the play has to be creative. He/she has to have the ability to think outside the box, to blend art and Gospel together in order to capture the attention of the audience and keep it.
  • Emotions- The writer has to produce ways to set an emotion  into each character, and these emotions needs to be transferred the audience .
  • Right  actors – This is important bc if the actor does not have the talent to act his character out, the message of the play maybe misinterpreted by the audience.
  • Technology- The use of technology, things writers need to think about, lighting, sound, visual effects. These would all aid in capturing the attention of the audience.
