         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Battle of Stalingrad was a turning point in WWII on the Eastern Front. Hitler had wrongly predicted he could swiftly invade the USSR and attacked a farther city, Stalingrad, than the USSR’s actual capital, Moscow, since Stalingrad bore the Soviet leader’s name. Stalingrad also lied on a pivotal supply route for the USSR, making it pivotal for the USSR to defend it. The battle resulted in a German defeat and began the USSR’s trek to Germany’s capital.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
