The parents also discouraged using Irish because they thought it would give them a better chance at life if they knew how to speak English better so they can go to England and get a good job.

In 1893, Eoin MacNeil, a Catholic from County Antrim, and Douglas Hyde, a protestant from County Roscommon, set up the Gaelic League. They made this to encourage people to learn and speak Irish. They succeded and Céilís became a lot more popular and Irish was taught at all levels of school including College.

The Dublin Lockout was founded by James Larkin. He had 2 co-founders. James Connolly and William Martin Murphy. The lockout started on August 26th 1913 and ended on January 13th 1914. The Lockout took place in Dublin. The Lockout was caused because of poor working conditions, lack of workers rights and inability to unionise. The goals were to improve working conditions and to grant workers the right to unionise. The methods used to grant these goals were strikes, rallies and walkouts. 20,000 workers were involved and 300 employers. 200+ policemen and citizens were injured and 2 people died.

James Larkin:
Born: Liverpool.

Sinn Féin was founded in 28th of November 1985. Arthur Griffith founded it. At the start Sinn Féin was a group of people pushing a rebellion to make Ireland a free country. They turned into IRA members their names were Seamus Daly, Matt Devlin, Michael McKevitt, Kieran Doherthy, Hugh Doherty and Joe Doherty. Half of Sinn Féin joined Finné Gael and the other half joined Fínné Fall because some were happy about it and some weren't.
For a while Sinn Fein were gone, but at the time of the IRA they came back and most of the IRA leaders were the Sinn Féin leaders. Now a days they are the 3rd biggest lead by Mary Lou Mcdonald party in Ireland.
Aryn: I think it was cool they way they were involved in the IRA.
Killian: I like that they way they were the biggest party, then they worst and they are the 3rd best one now.
Emma: I disliked the way they split up
Claudia: I like the way they did a rebellion
