<title>Gifted students realize that they are different from other students. Gifted students are aware that the way they play, speak, solve things, or their learning style is significantly different or &quot;weird&quot; compared to their peers.</title>

<title>We can help can these students is for the gifted student to realize, yes they are different, but that isn&#39;t a bad thing. That doesn&#39;t make them &quot;weird&quot;. It makes them special. This characteristic can be turned into a part of their identity. A part of who they are, an enhancement.</title>

<title>Often gifted students may be characterized as being socially immature. However, that is not the case. Gifted students are socially advanced compared to their chronologically aged peers. In the school setting, gifted students are placed with their chronological aged peers. This leads to gifted students not being able to have much in common with them at times. </title>

<title>Gifted students tend to have a mental age higher then a chronological age. Grouping them with students according to their mental age could foster better peer relationships. Cluster grouping is an example of grouping students according to their mental age. Students work together with other students according to similar interests and abilities. </title>

<title>Gifted students can be perfectionists. They have a fear of failure. These students want to make sure they do things the right way or perfectly and because of this, they do not ever take chances or risks for fear that it won&#39;t be absolutely perfect. They do not try new things and quit at things if something becomes difficult. </title>

<title>We can help gifted students with perfectionist tendencies by showing them that you make mistakes yourself. You can explain and demonstrate you making mistakes and modeling how to handle it. Also, you can role play scenarios on what to do if you make a mistake or come across a challenge, or even fail at something. It is important to teach all kids that we learn from our failures. Teaching students you don&#39;t have to be perfect at things is an important lesson for mental health and stability. </title>

<title>Parents need the support so then in return can support their child. Counseling, for parents or the entire family would be beneficial to provide support. All members of a family must feel important, valued and supported.</title>
