First step is to asses the student on communication abilities. After assessment the SLP creates a plan.

Push in services: Allows the student to benefit from whole class instruction while improving communication skills.
Can include: working on using appropriate volume, interactionsand communications appropriately, observing, helping child organize things to keep keep track of class expectations, reviewing information, building vocabulary, minimize stress in environemnt.

Pull out services: More intensive techniques and skills taught. Can includeL need help for swallowing disorders, multiple impairments, autism, assistive device learning, use technology.
