         <description><![CDATA[<div>5. Landforms - peninsula, isthmus, plateau, etc.&nbsp;<br>Peninsula- a mass of land almost entirely surrounded by water.<br>Isthmus- a narrow strip of land, with water on both sides, connecting two larger land masses.<br>Plateau- a broad expanse of generally high and flat land.<br>Lagoon- A small body of water separated from a larger body of water by a barrier of sand or coral reefs.<br><br>7. How does elevation affect vegetation growth?&nbsp;<br>As elevation gets higher the air gets colder and drier and has less carbon dioxide, which is essential for plant life. This causes plants in higher altitudes to be smaller and more scattered than throughout lower altitudes.</div>]]></description>
