How is the Code of Ethics significant in the classroom?

Ms.Ragan:

If a teacher is following the code of ethics it helps to build trust between…. Teachers and parents, teachers and students, and students and students. We all need to follow them to work together and trust in each other.

My reaction:

I feel like I can use this to make me a better teacher by following the same steps in my classroom. Understanding that trust is a big part of the classroom environment is important. I think practicing this in my classroom will keep me on a professional level with parents and students as well. This will make the entire school year run more smoothly as well as teach the children an important lesson.

How do you implement IDEA regulations in your classroom?

Ms. Ragan:

I implement them in my classroom by including all children in activities and by making modifications based on that child’s individual needs. I use reminder language, redirecting language, reinforcing language to help the children better understand and stay on top of work.

My reaction:

I feel like I can use this information to make sure I am a better teacher by staying on top of myself with IDEA regulations. It will keep me on my toes with modifying my lesson plans based on the different needs of different children. Staying on top of the regulations will help me to provide new ways of helping my students as well. I feel like the IDEA website is a good resource that is important to a classroom. Every teacher should be prepared for students with different disabilities.
