This extinction occurred 364 million years ago in which only 75% of species died. Giant land plants and estimated to be a cause in most of the death because they were releasing nutrients into the ocean which made it nutrient rich water bloom with algal. The algal deprived the water of oxygen which would kill species. It's also thought a volcano erupted cooling the earth after the ash clouded the skies, cooling the earth.

The Permian–Triassic extinction event which occurred 299-252 MYA was thought to be caused by a temperature crises. The water temperature was estimated to have risen between 25-28 degrees Calvin which would kill off invertebrates living in shallow lagoons. A carbon change in the air was also thought to be a cause in the extinction. Some 95% of marine life was killed and 70% of terrestrial species. (Picture bellow shows what was to believe the earth looked like during the event)

The Triassic-Jurassic extinction occurred 252-201 MYA. It's seen as a debate on how the extinction occurred, some believe it was a climate change, some think it was a sudden release of large amounts of carbon dioxide in the air. This extinction killed ~76% of all marine and terrestrial life and only 20% of all taxonomic families which could have been why dinosaurs become the dominant land animals of the earth. (Picture bellow is what was depicted as the earth during the extinction period.)

The Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event events or K-T for short was the last major extinction the earth saw at 252.2-66 MYA. The event lead to the extinctions of the dinosaurs and 80% off all species. The event was caused by an asteroid that hit the earth, enshrouding the earth in darkness for several long months . This killed off any plants and lead to a change in the food chain.
