Fear is a major representation of the German Invasion of Poland. The citizens of Poland lived in constant fear, for the Nazi Army could strike at any time. The Nazis dropped bombs from the sky in potato fields, streets, houses, breadlines, and many other locations. Innocent people were murdered by the vicious acts of Nazi Germany. No one was safe during this time period, so people feared for their lives everyday.

Airplanes also played a key role in the new destructive version of warfare, Blitzkrieg. They were used in bomb raids, releasing bombs from the air onto the innocent Poles down below. The people operating the airplanes aimed for concentrated groups of Poles, especially concentrated groups of Polish soldiers. They also aimed for radio stations, bridges, roads, railways, and other locations because the destruction of these prohibited escape from Poland, and contact with the outside world. It greatly contributed to the eventual takedown of the entire country, and symbolized the destruction of Poland as a whole.

Power of the Nazi Army of Germany was seen as the major cause of the fall of Poland, under Nazi control. The amount of power Germany had accumulated in such a short amount of time amazed and astonished other countries that were not under Germany's power, such as France and Great Britain. They were amazed at Germany's ability to takedown Poland. Germany had the power to create mass destruction in an entire country, and then transport Jewish Poles to concentration and death camps, where they would ultimately be murdered. It is unbelievable how much power Hitler was able to obtain with the violent and horrible things he was saying in order to create support for himself. Many people have the question of how Hitler even obtained that kind of power.

Tanks played a major role in the German Invasion of Poland. The Germans came up with a new kind of very destructive warfare. Their tactics were to destroy anything and everything in order to achieve what they wanted. In this case, it was Poland and tanks had a key part in this new warfare, also known as the Blitzkrieg. The tanks destroyed anything that crossed their path or got in their way including but not limited to roads, railroads, tunnels, and bridges. The tanks represented the merciless destruction of Poland by Nazi Germany.

I chose shame for the museum board because shame represents the feelings of Great Britain and France after Nazi Germany's successful takeover of a now weakened Poland. They were ashamed of themselves for not stepping in to help Poland during these horrific times. They witnessed how Germany completely destroyed Poland and they felt bad that they hadn't done a single thing to stop it. Some Poles also felt same in this period because of how weak they seemed compared to the powerful Nazi Germany.

Breadlines represent the poverty and the extreme weakness of Poland. As Nazi Germany quickly took over, Poland was rapidly deteriorating and the people were certainly suffering. Many stood in breadlines, hoping to obtain food for their families and for themselves. These lines were often the target of Nazi bomb raids, because of the amount of people who accumulated there. The Nazis knew that targeting these breadlines would successfully kill many innocent Poles at once. These breadlines represented the tragedy and depression of Poland.

In the German Invasion of Poland, shovels were more of a symbol in the beginning. It was mostly a representation of the hard-work the Polish citizens put in, in order to try and stop the German Invasion. People used shovels to dig trenches that could work as barriers. They also used shovels to dig holes in order to set up tank traps, another form of barrier that could stop a tank from entering the city. However, tanks could destroy mostly everything in their path. Shovels can also be seen as a symbol of unity, as the Poles came together and worked together in their efforts to stop the Nazi Army.

They also all represent the powerful and merciless ways of Nazi Germany and Hitler.
