Not just for the millennial generation, but for all generations. Some millennials t
ake the internet for granted.

Millennial Generation

Millennial generation or also known as millennials are those who born between 1980s to 2000s. Both Generation Y and Generation Z can be called "Millennials," with the primary difference between the two being technology. Generation Y grew up on personal computers, cell phones, and video game systems, while Generation Z has grown up on tablets, smartphones, and apps. Yet, the common ground between both generations is that both have been transforming and altering communication and identity. Millennials are related to technology.

Lazy Addiction
With today's technology advancements, millenial generation, also known as "us", is addicted to technology, games, and social media. That addiction roots to many problems.
Technology, while not innately bad, can be abused. After the advent of the Tesla autopilot, numerous drivers were caught sleeping or texting while driving, some resulting in crashes. As a result, various authorities called for a ban on the use of the word auto-pilot in Tesla ads. The thing is, this technology was not meant to harm anyone. Technology cannot (yet) harm anyone by itself. Because of this, it is our responsibility as owners of technology to use it ethically. For example, technology is not always perfect. Computer systems have glitches. Because of this, we should always be wary when using technology that can affect other people. The whole point of technology is convenience, but when we use technology in a way that disrupts others, it defeats the purpose.
We can look back to the old days, where there is no smartphones, the generation is more diligent and smarter. They also have better social skills because they always play outsite with their friends every day.

Millennials is a generation that born between 1980's and 2004 ish. So basically, we are Millennials. What most distinctive from millennials is technology. Well there is a lot technology that invented in the year 2000 until now, but we get back to the year of 2007, when Steve Jobs Re-Invented the phone called iPhone. That is the most revolutionary invention that human has made in the 21st century. Now we see that everyone has one of that phone. It's like a disease that everyone now addicted to use them, especially to use social media, like Instagram for the example. Let's call back to 1960 ish when motorola made the first phone. The main reason the cellphone was made is to make more connection from anywhere you are. But look forward today, everyone is now make better relationship with phones than people. Yes with the invention of social media we can make the far away close, but the close seems faraway. Most Millennials today not to addicted to social media i believe, but the Y and the X are the most... What should i said "Infected". They look at their phone faaaaaaar to long, they play games in it. Like PUBG or so, there is a case that a 10 or 11 years old spend almost $1000 on Fornite, aaand I think thats it.

Addiction to social media

As people born in the 21st century, we usually wake up to our electronical devices. We try on new applications from time to time too. We sometimes go over the things we've learned and catch up with the latest news from our devices. Though technology is very helpful for our generation, it also could cause addiction, especially addiction to social media. We, as millenials, will most likely have social media accounts. Usually, some of us will spend our time looking up things through social media and end up using up all our phone's battery. We forget to rest and to do other things necessary. We should try to not let technology take control of our lives. We know for sure that social media is very entertaining and fun to use. We could connect with other people and make new friends all around the world. We could also communicate with people far away from us. But addiction to social media could be very bad for our minds. Some people care too much about their followers and they become very anxious if they get less followers. Some loves to gossip and takes information from social media, which as we know aren't always so trustworthy. Also some uses all their time just to check on social media. We should stop being so addicted to social media, and try to use social media for better purposes.

Instagram Addiction

When we hear the word “addiction,” it is associated with alcohol and drugs, however, social media has become an addiction to the younger generation. The Pew Research Center has found that 92% of teens go online every day, with 24% saying they go online “almost constantly. According to Common Sense Media, 50% of teens say they feel addicted to their phone. A way for the addiction to start is through receiving “likes,” which activates the same feeling of winning money. The fact that getting notifications releases dopamine, so that makes us as the users happy. Users want to have with high numbers of likes and comments complimenting their lifestyle. Some teens even go as far to delete posts that do not receive a certain amount of likes, just to repost at another time when people are more likely to be on the app to like the post. This craving for likes and attention is a degrading practice. Social media should not be a platform for the basis of building self-confidence.

Social media creates a different reality for most people. On the internet, our lives seems greater than it actually is. Social media causes users to compare themselves to one another, which can lead to low self-esteem issues. Teens wind up on the explore page of Instagram staring at a selfie that they associate with perfection, leading them to question their self-worth. They agonize over what photos to post so that it goes along with the look and feel of their feed. A Common Sense survey found that from teenage girls, 35% worry about people tagging them in unattractive photos, 27% stress about how they look in posted photos, and 22% feel bad about themselves if their photos were ignored. Social media has led people to care about things that do not have real substantial meaning. The way a feed looks or the number of likes is pointless in the bigger picture, but to many teens, they associate happiness with these factors.

We're finding new career paths no one even knew were there. We are constantly coming up with new ideas in various fields—especially technology. Even the ideas and approaches alone are very unique and forward-thinking.

We are also moving towards greater equality and world changes that are for the better. We are getting less judgemental about a lot of things like race, gender equality, gender identity, culture, religion, sexuality, and more.

Bad: We grew up in a golden age. We've been very spoiled. The implanting of those qualities are not the fault of our parents but our fault for not changing as we get older. We never had to struggle as much. There is struggle for many people still. I will never deny that. But I think everyone can agree that it use to be far worse in many aspects.

We've become lazy about research. Many of us believe whatever we read and never take it with speculation. We are also too idealistic and never consider older, more educated views on thing happening in the world even just the country.
That is my opinion of the millenial generations' improvement. I hope this generation can bring more good effects in the future

Millennials Addiction to Social Media

Millennials is the first generation to start relying on technology according to google and one of the problem with millennials now is social media. It becomes an addiction.

Like I said, one of the addiction that millennials have is social media. Their addiction means spending increasing amount of time online to produce the same pleasurable effect, and it means social media is the main activity they engage in above all others. It also means taking away attention from other tasks, experiencing unpleasant feelings from reducing or stopping interaction with social media and restarting the activity very soon after stopping completely.
Most of us rely partly on the ability to reflect on our thinking, feeling and behaving to form our own self-image. The problem with social media is that self-image relies mainly on others and their opinions.

Social media makes you want to play it all day and if possible, everyday. Sometimes people choose social media than going out with their friends. I think that this addiction is not healthy because you forgot about everything and social media is like your main priority. Not only that, but social media makes you a lazy person. haha.

Millennials generation, accordingto demographers and researchers, are those people who born between the early 1980s to early 2000s. Being born between these year when technology such gadget, social media etc. were developed, millennials are used to use technology even become addicted to technology. Technology such gadget was secondary to tertiary needs but now it feels like primer needs since we can't separated from technology.
Millennial are attached to social media, some use it in a creative way to make money but some just use it to waste their time. People who just use it to waste their time will become more and more addicted to social media. People who become addicted to social media tend to be ignorant to their environment. They will search signal everywhere so they can surf on social media and sometime to have signal, it costs them money.
Social media actually can bring good impact for like bring closer those who far from us, increase creativity even also provide jobs.
So I think to use social media, wise is needed

Millenial generation

As a millennial, I feel that millennials are generally on the left of the political spectrum, and were overwhelmingly in favor of Bernie Sanders during the Democratic Primaries. They will shape the world in a more progressive way and will be economically more to the left and will foreign policy wise be less interventionist and will be more for letting people rule their own affairs. They tend to be more libertarian on personal issues and so will protect individual liberty. However the only issue I disagree with my fellow millennials on is political correctness. I think hounding people for saying something we disagree with simply drives people into the arms of Trump. People are fed up with being castigated for using the wrong term or having an opinion different to millennials. I get the feeling that many millennials just want to say, ‘that’s racist’ without actually knowing what real racism is. It also has the effect of crying wolf as when a real racist appears, a la Trump, no one takes the cries of the millennials seriously anymore.

Internet addiction is described as an impulse control disorder, which does not involve use of an intoxicating drug and is very similar to pathological gambling. Some Internet users may develop an emotional attachment to on-line friends and activities they create on their computer screens. Internet users may enjoy aspects of the Internet that allow them to meet, socialize, and exchange ideas through the use of chat rooms, social networking websites, or "virtual communities." Other Internet users spend endless hours researching topics of interest Online or "blogging". Blogging is a contraction of the term "Web log", in which an individual will post commentaries and keep regular chronicle of events.

Similar to other addictions, those suffering from Internet addiction use the virtual fantasy world to connect with real people through the Internet, as a substitution for real-life human connection, which they are unable to achieve normally.

smartphones addiction
Social media is everything these days. Millennials use social media constantly throughout the day. Whether it is for their job, for fun or to connect with people. Millenials these days always had their own cellphone bought by their parents. They would always bring it anywhere and anytime. For example when they went to school, to salon, to the mall, or any other places. Why? because a cellphone helps you connect with friends and family no matter how many miles may separate you, they deliver your news at a moment's notice, and they help you stay organized when your to-do list is just too extensive to write down by hand. But actually, smartphone also had more disadvantages for the generation. they would make students feel lazy to study and also social media in it could make people had addiction to look at their cellphones 24/7, which is not good for health, mentally and physically. In my opinion, I think we shouldn’t be too focused with our smartphones, instead we should socialize more with people around us and had fun with friends.

Millennials

Millennials have grown up in an on-demand society with pretty much everything at our fingertips. Take a typical day in the life of a millennial, Katy.

Katy wakes up and realizes she’s out of milk, eggs and mouthwash, so she hops onto Amazon, and by the time she’s home from the gym, there’s a delivery at her door. She eats breakfast and orders her ride to work. While at work, Katy toggles between her work email, Gchat, text messages and seeing what everyone’s been up to on Facebook and LinkedIn. On her Lyft home, she orders dinner from her phone and gets it just in time to sit on her couch and choose from thousands of titles to binge watch for the night.

We live in a world where virtually anything can be taken care of in a matter of minutes, right from a device that’s the size of our palm. The impact on our habits and society is noticeable. Our need for instant gratification is at an all-time high. If we want something, we no longer understand what it means to wait.

It also plays a role in ballooning our expectations. Our social network is not an authentic place to connect with friends; instead, it’s become a place to promote the best version of ourselves, whether true or not, to the world. It’s now easier than ever to see what everyone in our social network is doing, where your friend just traveled for vacation, which friend just got a new job, which one just quit their job and went off on a three-month road trip, who’s been promoted and whose company just raised a bunch of money. In this world, the grass is always greener; it makes you examine your life and how it compares to the Photoshopped versions your network promotes on their feeds.

Our increased need for instant gratification — coupled with increased options and visibility to others’ success — drives millennials to seek success, contribution and personal growth at a more rapid rate than other previous generations. Technology has accelerated the millennial timeline.
