Parkers backlash also affects the people around him. Parker, MJ, and Ned get rejected from MIT. Strange is a wise man that can perform spells and has saved the universe many times. After Parker explains that his friends got rejected from MIT just because his identity was revealed, Strange felt sympathy and agreed to help Parker. Strange casts a spell that would make the world forget Parker is Spider - Man, but the spell is corrupted as Parker repeatedly altered the spell so that his loved ones retain their memories. Strange eventually contains the corrupted spell and orders Parker to leave. Parker finds an MIT administrator to consider MJ and Ned's applications but is attacked by "Otto Octavious" and "Norman Osborn". After a near death experience, Strange teleports Parker and Octavious back to the Sanctum, trapping him in a cell right next to "The Lizard". This shows that the mentor (Doctor Strange) is always there to support Parker. This event is important because it shows May's bravery. This 'refusal' indicates that the hero, Peter Parker shows some compassion towards the villains even though they tried to kill him. Parker cures octavius alone but osborn's "evil side" takes control and convinces the uncured villains to betray Parker. This is where Parkers supposed "allies" turns into his enemies once again. Electro, Sandman, and the Lizard escapes but osborn fatally injures Aunt May, but before she dies, May tells Peter that with great power comes great responsibility. This event is important because out of rage, changes Parker's mindset and encourages him to kill the Villains instead of healing them. Ned uses Doctor Strange's rings that can open a portal to Parker, but accidentally summon alternate versions of Spider - Man from other universes. Later on, MJ, Ned and the Spidermen head out to find Parker. After they find him, the alternate Spidermen tells Parker that they know what it feels like to lose a loved one and encourages Parker to fight in May's Honour. This is where Parker recalls what May said to him, "With great power comes great responsibility". Killing the villains would not be good use of his powers, so he should do the opposite and try to heal the villains one last time. Meanwhile, Ned frees Doctor Strange from the mirror dimension with Strange's ring. The Goblin, arrives and unleashes the contained spell which begins pulling people in from other universes. While Doctor Strange attempts to contain the unleashed spell, Peter is reminded of Aunt May which causes him to rage on The Goblin. This function of the ordeal is to show that the hero is also an Anti - Hero at the same time. The spidermen from other universes stops Peter from killing Goblin and they cure Goblin from his evil side.

However, I think the hero did this as he wanted the best for his loyal companions and he doesn't want them to go through trouble because of him again.
