It seems to me that teachers should try to do all their best to teach their pupils to be tolerant to others. It doesn`t matter what nationality the person represents. Our task is to explain that everyone is unique and valuable in the world`s society. We as teachers must comtribute to it and try to be wise examples for our students how to behave correctly toward peole from abroad.

In the second video, Prof.Dr. Hans Anand Pant of the Deutsche Schulakademie makes the point that the integration of refugees in our school actually provides a good opportunity to rethink schools in general and that the work required to integrate them can be a powerful driver for innovation at schools. Do you agree with this statement? Why (not)?

“Schools create that important space, where teenagers, as soon as they arrive, can have a life perspective again”.

I totally agree with Mr Pant. I strongly believe that integrating refugees or/and migrants in our schools , changes our perspective towards schooling methods. In a multicultural society , we as educators need to adapt , personalize, change our approach and embrace diversity.

I believe that the refugees are people with a lot of needs that they need care and protection. The first things have to do with their basic needs (food, water, home). Then, they require phychological support (sense of safety, care and acceptance). Last but not least, their educational needs should be covered by fully-equipped schools and well-trained teachers as much as possible.
That's why we should do all the best to create comfortable conditions for studying. If we have a newly arrived student in the classroom, we are manages to organise some kinds of warming up activities to help him or her to join the community. It can be made throught mini-projects.
