Spartans only cared about them self and no one else, not even there children. Many of the times the boys went to military school and was punished for a seldom crime. Punishments were harsh for simple things. You guys was also an obligarcy which promoted inequalities. If you were a slave, you could live a free life if your parents were not slaves and you weren't but are from a different emperor. Luxury is a desire humans have and it's a want.
