The habitat of the Manta ray is the open ocean, they are usually found in warm and subtropical waters. There are two different species of the manta ray, the giant manta ray that is found all over the globe and the reef manta rays that stays near the coastline and coral reefs. The reef manta ray also rests on atolls and seamounts. The giant manta ray mostly travels in the ocean with no real habitat but they visit cleaning stations.

A remora is an elongated fish with a unique looking dorsal fin that suction on to an organism. While the manta ray is swimming through the ocean the remora suction themselves right unto the ray and cleans the ray. The remora is provided with food from the skin. In return the manta ray gets cleaned from any harmful bacteria.
