Josserand, E & Kaine, S 2019, ‘Different directions or the same route? The varied identities of ride-share drivers’, Journal of Industrial Relations, vol. 61, no. 4, pp. 549–573.

This research article focuses on the way "gig workers" being rideshare companies independent contractors and employees are represented within the legal classification as they work to identify work conducted by ride-share drivers to make sense of their occupational identity in legal cases. These shares similarities in how my fictional company Skier and its employees will be represented in legal cases if a major injury or accident was to occur. Enforcing the fact that I need to ensure both the skier and the host Skier's utmost safety and wellbeing while taking part in this sporting activity.

Basky, G 2020, ‘Spike in e-scooter injuries linked to ride-share boom’, Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), vol. 192, no. 8, pp. E195–E196.

This journal article explains to us how the spike in injuries in the e-scooter industry is linked to the rideshare boom. As riders on e-scooters are more prone to injuries compared to traditional ride shares in cars. Although crashes and injuries are rare, they mainly happen due to inexperience, for say on their first ride on one of their e-scooters. This source presented to me that in the "boat sharing" business model of Skier, injuries are quite possible to the inexperienced, especially to the ones that are of age, have a health condition or those who aren't in decent physical condition. Prompting the need for warnings towards customers before they partake in these Skier activities.

Julsen, T 2010, ‘Shoulder Injury - Water Sports’, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, vol. 42, no. 5, p. 236.

This article details a shoulder injury that came from the water sport, tubing. In this sport you have little control over the equipment you are riding on as the goal of the sport is for the driver to throw you off, but going at a pace in which you can still hang on. Meaning if your driver is inexperienced you are more prone to injuries. Relating to my app Skier in the way of hiring drivers and trainers, as the number one priority is the safety of the skier's background checks will need to be made to ensure that Skier hosts are experienced in both driving and water sports. As the Skier host applies they will need to provide their license, rego and present or past video evidence of themselves citing their name and showing them skiing behind their boat. This then checked by a Skier staff member will grant them the opportunity to host skiers. Without this background check, safety can not be ensured for the skiers when going behind the host's boat.

Dialogue from the water skier talking about how everyone plays these popular Australian sports and maybe its time to try something new. Suggesting the app Skier shown on a phone, and shows how easy it is to use. Further explaining that is for anyone of any skill level, even if you don't have equipment borrow some through our hosts or rent some out through the apps connections.
