Fly Tipping

Fly Tipping on TI is against the law.

Fly Tipping includes, but is not limited to the disposal of grass cuttings and bin bags discarded around the island.
Perpetrators will face a fine of £250 from DIO and receive a bill to remove the rubbish.
The local recycling centre for TI is Chichester, Havant can also be used by booking in through the website.
You can request an additional/replacement or ‘upsized’ bin should it be required. Note: Each application is reviewed by the LA on a case by case basis and there is a possibly of provision of a free upgrade/additional bin. Details on how to apply here.

Run/Work Safety on Barracks After Dark.

It is apparent that SP/ dependants are conducting sporting and work activities around Baker Barracks without considering their personal safety by not wearing reflective/ fluorescent clothing whilst running; cycling; riding or walking from the technical area. With immediate effect, a reflective belt/ fluorescent clothing will be required to be worn between 1600 – 0730hrs. This is to be cascaded on sub-unit orders.

Community Fridge

In an effort to reduce food waste a Community Fridge has been established and is now open in the foyer of the Community Centre. This is a 24/7 facility.

Feel free to help yourself, or donate something that you no longer need.

Note: You should check the use by dates of anything you take out / put in.

The Welfare Teams take no responsibility for any food used, which may cause you illness due to allergies, or by being out of date.

Seatbelt Safety

Seatbelt Compliance on Baker Barracks. It has been brought to the attention of the Army Force Protection Advisor (AFPA) that drivers attending the TI Nursery are failing to restrain passengers in age-appropriate seating or carrying unrestrained minors on their laps. Drivers have a legal, moral & financial responsibility for the occupants of vehicles.

Bus shelter closed!

The bus shelter on Emsworth Rd is closed for the foreseeable future due to health and safety concerns with the building.

Visitor notification form

From 21^st Oct 24, SP and dependants who have visitors coming onto Thorney Island are requested complete the Microsoft Form, available through the QR code or link below, to book their visitors onto camp.

These bookings will be monitored by the MPGS and MGS daily.
