Hi my name is Ainsley Robinson. I am an esthetics and spa industry student at Loyalist College. I am currently learning manicures, pedicures, facials, and spa treatments. I am dedicated to help my clients to achieve their skin care goals.

Certificates that I have achieved by far is my cosmetology class from high school, my CBON infection control certificate and I also have my acrylics certificate. I will also be continuing my aesthetics course at loyalist for my college to achieve my college diploma, I am working towards receiving my diploma in April 2025.

I believe skin care is much more then making your skin looks good but also making yourself feel good. I would like to explore all natural products in my service instead of fragrance included products due to some clients being allergic to fragrance products and I would want to take a more safer approach with skin care products, also including a clients consultation form for them to fill out, if they are new, so I can know there allergy’s and not take any chances.

Taught us about essential oils and the ingredients that are used, which oils are good for each clients. Showed us which oils are more likely to give an allergic reaction. How some sense of smells can change the persons mood. How it absorbs into your skin. How it enter your body without be ingested.

We learned about medical estheticians and what to looks for, learned which cancers look like what, how to know if it’s a freckle or if it’s cancer, how a lump=cancerous tumour, hoe the Timor goes into the lymphatic and circulatory system, if you apply pressure on Swelling and it doesn’t bounce back up it could be lymphedema.

If you wax the client with cancer you could trigger the area and make it worse, you could do suffering instead of waxing, suffering is better treatment then waxing, doesn’t pull the skin,

Full body message: if the client has a solid tumour, don’t work over area, work around area.

Liquid cancer: you have to modifie your pressure during a message, you could move the cancer around the body.

She told us to learn the difference between pressures light or hard.

If you do end up doing a message with a client who is diagnosed with cancer you could sometimes put them to bed rest if you were unaware of there condition.

If your client has a catheter then you could do a mini facial and you would have to avoid the area, including a scalp message or pedicure

If you are sick and have a client who has cancer, even if you have the sniffles, you could get them very sick and possibly in hospital.
