The Point System was created to allow more immigrants to come into Canada. The points system gives points to people regardless of their gender or race. Canadians wanted people of a certain ethnicity to immigrate to Canada, and at first it was working. The people started coming in, but after a certain period of time, these people from the same ethnicity stopped coming in. Since the population of Canada wasn't very large, they wanted more people to immigrant. After a while, Canada decided to let people in regardless of their ethnicity. That is when the Points System was introduced.

Introduced in the 20th century, the point system was an organized grading tool used to evaluate the potential of each immigrant wanting to enter a country. The government analyzes the occupation, education, age, national fluency, and other factors that define what they can bring to the country. It is an excellent method to differentiate the extent of factors that immigrants can provide, without discriminating certain individuals by race, color, religion, or gender. It encourages equality in society, providing everyone with the same chance.

This was demonstrated from the earlier passage of acts restricting the access of immigrants from less desirable countries to the more recent Immigration Act of 1978, which ensured that immigrants would only be assessed on what they can contribute, regardless of their background

The economy of Canada has boosted and risen due to immigration. This is because we have a larger number of people who can become laborers, factory workers (lower paying jobs). The larger numbers of these people allows for there to be a scenario of higher supply than demand. Meaning that the cost to have these people work would be less and therefore create a boost in the economy. Also these people are working and therefore creating money for the country, so a lot of people coming in to do work increased the amount that the country is making. The amount that the people cost (their salary) is lower than the amount they are creating, therefore leaving the country in massive profits.

With waves of immigration came more businesses, more workers, and more consumers, in turn causing the economy of the country to grow. An increase in start-up businesses because of immigrants meant that there was more of a need for employment in the country. Creating jobs means that the unemployment rate would decrease and the economy would be sustainable. Immigrants, like everybody else in the country, were consumers, and bought goods and services to satisfy their needs. An increase in jobs implied that unemployment would be lower, which meant consumer spending would increase. All of these factors combined showed for a prospering economy.

With new immigrants coming to Canada, they are bringing new skills and talents that are greatly benefitting the Canadian economy overall. Additionally, the point system for immigration ensures that the people coming in are highly specialized or specialized to an adequate level to perform tasks and jobs that need to be completed. With an increased population, more and more people are paying taxes, which greatly benefits Canada as they can use this money to improve a variety of things like infrastructure, importing and exporting, and schools. By improving these things, Canada may attract more immigrants which will increase the population and essentially, the entire chain will restart.

Canada has a high demand for labour workers and despite the grueling hours and conditions, most immigrants desperately accept these jobs. The phenomenon can be found in America, were 17.6 percent of workers are Mexican immigrants where over 7.7% of American citizens are unemployed.

Canada can forsee this influx in unemployment rate worse, since they we have far fewer jobs in Canada compared to America. For one, because of the increase in population by the new immigrants, the sale of goods/services increased. Furthermore, as more immigrants started to arrive, internal economy (i.e Microeconomics) or companies also prospered. For example, more factories we being built to help support the demand of the product which also provided jobs. In addition because of the ob creation and larger population, this increases the amount of money flowing around in the Canadian economy. This allows for a larger GDP, and more money present in the economy. Businesses would be more prosperous as they acquired more consumers, and can make greater advancements. In addition to this, a larger number of immigrants indicates more productivity in the work environment. This calls for more business sales or transactions. Immigration also brings new skills and ideas into the field, which can start up new businesses. It lowers the unemployment rate, and allows more money to be spent on goods and services.

Canada's main purpose for immigration was for the need of workers. Before the immigration act, there was a declining number of workers coming in, which was a problem because of the need of farmers. That is when more immigrants were brought in. This can also be seen today. When immigrants come to Canada, not a lot of money is spent on them. However, they continue to fill the employment positions, immigrants bring more money in. This is also done by the taxes that they pay.

One of Canada's goals was to increase the size of Canada's workforce since they had a need for more workers. By having people immigrate into Canada, they can accomplish that goal because there will be more people who work to contribute to the economy. Also, more immigrants leads to more people spending money in Canada which results in a growing economy.

The individuals immigrating into Canada after the introduction of the Immigration Act of 1978, would be of different ethnicities, sexes, religions, and cultures in general, resulting in the Canadian population becoming much more diverse from the initial white British male dominance. This has an impact on Canadian politics, where the politicians who had just one group of people to impress when asking for votes in elections (the white British males), now will have to interact with a much larger and multicultural society of Canadians, making it more challenging for the different parties to gain votes as they have to introduce and promote ideas that cannot offend or discriminate any citizen. Voting will affect the party which will govern the country

The political impact of immigration on Canada is the support minority groups such as blacks and Indians have gotten from political leaders. In 1901 the political leader would have only wanted the support of white people. Whereas nowadays, political will show themselves as open-minded and visit different religious areas in order to get the vote from everyone. The laws of the country and the platform of the politician reflects the change, such as in the past the campaign of the politician would be racist, but now it is about acceptance.
