At first he successfully forced the Union to retreat by pushing through Virginia to Pennsylvania, but would face several failures at major points in the battle Gettysburg, where Union forces would finally succeed in stopping Lee's advance. During the battle,Lee's forces, despite receiving reinforcements, would be repelled by the Union several times, and would ultimately lose.&nbsp;The Confederate troops </div>]]></description>
