One of the most important events of the 1970s was the implementation of one child policy. The impact of the policy was significant and it has aroused debates. This paper will analyze the impact of the policy from the perspective of economy and personal lives, showing that although the policy has reduced China's population pressure in the short turn, in the long turn it had a negative impact. The one child policy partly caused a lack of labor force, which limited China's developing potential, and as numerous parents had to be supported by fewer people, the pressure on every single person increased.

1. After the dramatic economic growth in the twentieth century, Chinese government has implemented one child policy to control the surge of population. However, whether this policy has been beneficial to the Chinese is a controversial topic. One child policy is defined as a birth control policy which requires each parent to have at most one child. This essay will critically examine the impact of one child policy on the society from resource allocation, education level of citizens to aging population problem.
After the construction in 1994, the Three Gorges Dam has been one of the most outstanding infrastructures in China. The issue has grown in importance in light of recent weather condition. It is evident that climate condition in the south China fluctuates dramatically due to monsoon, so the initial reason for building the three Gorges Dam is to reduce the impact of flood. Apart from that, this essay will analyze the positive influence of this dam from energy, tourism and environment aspects.

One of the most important events of the 1970s was the implementation of a one-child policy in China that allowed only one child per household. Although it ended in 2016, the policy made an impression on the community that lasted until now. This essay will explore the consequences of China's one-child policy regarding its demographic and social behaviour. In the pages that follow, it will be argued that the policy left some imbalance between genders and ages that would be detrimental to society. This paper has been divided into two parts. The first part provides the background of China's demographic prior to, during, and post-one-child policy. Next, it will be addressed the long-term effects of the policy on the population structure and the changes in equality between genders.
