In Mr. Appleton's class, he prefers to only lecture and his students taking notes. This isn't very effective. Kind of that mantra "goes one ear, and out another."

In Mrs. Baker's class, she offered a lot of activity for her students to do, but there was no coherence. It didn't seem like there was much thinking to do the activity. There could be some research on the pot luck activity, but there was no deeper thinking of "how does it relate to me."

Mr. Appleton's classroom fails to allow for any student input into content presentation or learning styles. While Mrs. Baker's class is more engaging than Mr. Appleton's, her lack of clear expectations results in a lack of meaningful learning.

Mr. Appleton is not utilizing differentiation because he expects everyone to learn in the same exact way (clearly displaying objectives, lecture notes, etc.). Mrs. Baker, however, provides GRAPHICAL ORGANIZERS and allows the students to learn in the way that is best for them!
