Approaching integrated studies within the classroom assists students to “connect knowledge, understanding and skills from within or across subject areas in meaningful ways” (Gilbert & Hoepper, 2014, p.324). The reason why Australians schools have integrated studies and curriculum areas within student’s education is because it assists students with a better understanding of the information being given to them but also allowing students to process the information in the real-world setting.

Even though integrated studies and the curriculum integration has shown to be a success strategy in Australia educations and classrooms, the process of this procedure has roughly challenges and limitations for schools as well as the teachers. This can sometimes be difficult for teachers to follow through with the integrated studies as well as the interdisciplinary approach in their class, with the pressure from teachers to not only take notes but cover all aspects from the Australian Curriculum (2016) which can lead to affecting teacher’s confidence and judgement within teaching.
