She brings him to her house to recover from the injuries he got in the crash. She reads his latest release called Misery’s Child and finds out Misery dies, she goes ballistic and makes Sheldon write a new book to bring Misery back to life. As he tries to come up with a plan to escape, Annie grows more and more controlling, even violent, when she forces Sheldon to write something that suited her dark and twisted fantasies.

The way Stephen King writes Misery is it is slow enough to keep you in suspense but also fast enough to keep the events coming and the plot thickening. While reading it he describes Paul's feelings and actions so well, you can almost feel the pain, depression, desperation, fear and paranoia that he has during the book. Annie Wilkes is written very well too.
