·      Battaglini presented on iReady growth monitoring reports, finding lesson plans for students, benchmarks, turning off learning games.

·      Benchmarks for iReady are assigned (January and April).

·      Question about kindergarten growth monitoring process – do we (teachers) turn on OR does admin turn this on?  Hagley is finding out if this will be happening at all for K.

·      Garvin asked for suggestions about activities to help lowest kids in small group.

·      Discussed need for interventionist for next year. Brock shared with group about intervention committee meeting and their recommendations that will be presented by Hollen/Heironimus to administrators in central office in December.

·      Hagley talked about Tier 2 documentation sheet – begin sheets by putting dates of service in small groups (this will follow the student as they progress and will help with possible SAT in future). 

-Referred to padlet for Tier 2 paperwork needed to monitor student progress, document interventions, and current data summary sheets.

-Steps were given to find the intervention lessons in iReady to use for tier2/3 instruction. Grouping tool is another great feature to help with using intervention lessons.

-use teacher judgement if you feel students are not identified for tier 2 with iReady, begin documentation anyway.

-How to turn off games was provided by Julie Jones.

What does TSS look like in Kindergarten for tier 2 students? The county push is that our instructional aides will be able to pull small groups for intervention by adding extra training for them

Progress monitoring will be called growth monitoring for iready on a monthly basis. December 11th-15th kids will need to be identified then assigned for lower levels to take. After initial time it will log them on automatically for their monthly growth monitoring. No monitoring in May.

"I'm using my iready data in my lessons" there will be a one drive file by subject (vocab, fluency etc) to use as resources for intervention. We can give to aides to use with a small group who have similar weaknesses

iReady data –

·      entered fall numbers into BOY today (red is middle of the road normal, green is high, yellow is lowest)

·      lowest students do not meet minutes, do not stay focused, inattentive, kids are looking at the characters (this cannot be turned off -- distracting)

·      be ready to give reading/math assessments next week beginning Jan. 8.

Discussed conference forms, retention forms, Scholastic, remote learning days

1)Discussion about iReady results and what to use to help those students who are struggling. -monitor struggling students to make sure they are not just clicking. -having our aides sit with certain students- do in small groups. set goals with students individually their first benchmark score to try and motivate them.

2)Student engagement using "Building Thinking Classrooms" strategies to strengthen rigor and high level thinking for math instruction

3)Vocabulary Strategies- shared ways to use vocabulary lessons from the presentation today

4)How is UFLI working for everyone? agreed that it is very effective and seeing a lot of growth. How are you implementing? whole group/small group discussion

*Set up iReady progress monitoring for this week (2/19-2/23).

*Look at iReady data – put in MOY data into the spreadsheet that Battaglini shared with us.

*Data from iReady still doesn’t give us a good snapshot of the students’ abilities because of testing on iPads, attention span/focus, ELL (not all are Spanish speaking), kids do it independently without any help, NOT age appropriate for kindergarten.

*Time is being allotted for students to be in iReady every day; however, there are students who need more one-on-one instruction with the teacher because they are not focused, they are very low, etc.

*Kindergarten Registration – April 25, farm animals, classes make a craft for decorations, same set-up with tables, dress as farmers (look for farm shirts for all 16 of us – we pay for them), 4 subs

*iReady letters were sent home to students with questionable scores.

Safety concerns with special ed pick up in first grade hallway. Too many parents waiting by the door. Could they stay in their cars with tags in the window? Scan barcode at the parking spots

Discussion of students needing to take iReady if they have an IEP??? Told by some people yes and others say no.

Discussed making short videos of phonics and phonemic awareness activities to push out to parents to show them how to help their child at home.

iREady lessons assign 2 a week.

*Dysgraphia/Dyscalculia Trainings - Must be completed by Friday, 3/29/24. Put certificate in folder in office.

*Ecolab Science Visitors - Volunteers from Ecolab will be showing science experiments to our 3 classes concerning water conservation during the week of 4/22.

*Field Trip for Antietam Recreation - We need a schedule from Antietam Recreation for the activities. Possibly swimming. Buses were approved.

*Diagnostic IReady Reading/Math - Week of 4/8. NSGRA - 4/15/24 Running record for Tier II and III and those below cut scores. Last growth monotoring week of 5/13 - 5/17. Pyne will email to Battaglini and Jones to request help with NSGRA running records.

*Final retention letters are due 4/12/24.

*Book Fair Preview - 5/18 - 5/19. Book Fair Week of 5/22 -5/26.
