Individuals only wanting to do the Childbirth Educator training can attend the training on July 27-28

All dates are Saturday and Sunday from 9a-5p EST with a one-hour break + 4 hours of self-study prior to live workshops.

2) Is an interview required for the training?

No.

3)    Are there prerequisites?

You will need internet access to complete the pre-work and access information after the training.

4)    What is the pre-work?

Pre-work will consist of reading articles, watching video or YouTube clips and answering questions to demonstrate understanding of the material read or viewed.  Pre-work will also consist of conducting an assessment of your community birth hospital/center as well as writing an outline for a teaching demonstration to practice teaching a childbirth education topic. 

5)    What supplies are needed for the class?

Computer or tablet, notebook, internet access

6)    When is the deadline to register?

July 9th, 2024 - Childbirth Educator Training

July 15th, 2024- Birth Doula Training (only if you have a previous CBE training)

7)    What are the program requirements?

a. Resident of Mecklenburg County

• $50 Childbirth Educator ONLY

• $100 for Birth Doula ( which includes CBE Training)

8)  What is the class size?

The maximum class is 20. You will receive class details after registration closes.

9)  How will the class be taught?

In person. You will receive breaks through the program as we recognize the fatigue that prolonged sitting causes.

10)  What if I live outside of Mecklenburg County?

If space is available, there will be room for non-Mecklenburg County residents. However there is a cost. The cost is as follows:

• Non Meck Co Resident Childbirth Educator ONLY : $400

• Non Meck Co Residents Birth Doula : $525 (which includes CBE training)
