One way in which the Japanese Occupation changed the lives of teenagers was in terms of food.
According to https://padlet.com/FlamyBunny , before the Japanese Occupation, the teenagers had plenty of food and Singapore had many food stalls around the streets and the foods were also affordable for the teenagers. Teenagers before the Japanese Occupation had plenty of food and they did not had to rely or be concerned about food. But during the Japanese Occupation, tapioca, sweet potatoes and bread were the about the only food the teenagers could get. Everyone was also entitled to 2 katis of noodles and two loaves of bread a week. The noodles, made from tapioca flour and palm oil, an account from Miss Wong, a teenager factory worker during the Japanese Occupation. ‘and those were the worst things I had ever eaten in my life.’ She continued. Therefore, one way in which the Japanese Occupation changed the lives of teenagers was in terms of food as they only had limited food and had to survive on only bread and noodles made from tapioca flour which tasted really bad.

Also, according to Source 29 on Page 38, the source tells me that food rationing occurs to everyone every meal time, they will have to queue long hours for the food. They would not provide sufficient rations but you also could not request or complain for more food. This shows that the lives of teenager changed during the Japanese Occupation were different from before the Japanese Occupation as the British provide and allowed free trade among the people. However, during the Japanese Occupation, the people were only allowed to receive the food that was provided by the Japanese and not allowed to sell food among themselves. Therefore, the Japanese Occupation changed the lives of teenagers in terms of food because the amount of food they were given was not sufficient for their health and well-being.

One way in which the Japanese Occupation changed the lives of teenagers was in terms of their daily life.
According to Source 22 on page 32 in the History textbook, the Japanese treated the locals all alike. A Japanese poster shows children of Asia being happy together therefore, showing the idea of Asia for the Asians. This shows that the life of teenager changed during the Japanese Occupation because before the Japanese Occupation, the British were superior and the people had to listen to them. However, during the Japanese Occupation, everybody was treated fairly with no superior race.
Also, Another way in which the Japanese Occupation changed the lives of Teenagers was the treatment by the Japanese they had to live by everyday.
According to Source 26 on page 36, A picture showing a Japanese Soldier pulling out nails from a detainee in a Prison. This shows that the life of Teenagers changed during the Japanese Occupation because before the Japanese Occupation, the People did not have to follow rules and be met with such violence and torture. However, during the Japanese Occupation the Japanese arrested people for no reason and torturing them thinking they were anti-Japanese. Therefore the lives of Teenagers changed in terms of their daily lives because the Japanese were very easily violent and aggressive, causing the people to be afraid and suspicious of each other.

The source states that the mother
of Joseph Seah, a Chinese individual, teenager during the Japanese Occupation was beaten up very
badly due to her race and not showing respect to the Japanese guards. This showed that lives of
teenager changed during the Japanese Occupation was in terms of the way they were treated because
before the Japanese occupation because before the Japanese Occupation, there was superiority
complex and the British were treated with privileges while the other races had average treatment.
However, during the Japanese Occupation, the Chinese were tortured and were treated with disrespect
and hate while the treatment of other races were neutral.
