1. (HOOK) If you love rom-com films, then you'll love this rom-com in book form. A girl teams up with her childhood enemy & neighbor to win over her dream prom date
2. (SOMETHING YOU'VE FOUND INTERESTING) The author uses witty dialogue between the main protagonist and her enemy that keeps me engaged and makes me wonder if there is something more than their dislike for one another. This book is starting to remind me of another book I love, Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before

If you like books about the civil war, and about this country's past - then this is a great option for you to get a detailed look at how this nation is the way it is today.
2. The author somehow finds a way to add immense detail to every little scene. She makes it feel like she was literally alive in the 1860s. Lot's of work was put into finding sources for this book and the writing is advanced. The only thing is that this is a very dense book and takes long to read.

Although I have experience backpacking and feel very prepared, I thought it could not hurt to read a bit more about it. The book covers many aspects of backpacking. So far, the book has gone over geographical markings and how to pick where to hike.

1. Hook- Winter's end is a murder mystery. It starts off with these two girls in a boarding school. It first talks about the rules and how bad it is and as the book continues, you see what they face and how they are going to do it together.
2. Something interesting- One thing I found interesting was when one of the girls goes to their counselor and doesn't return to the school one of the other girls has to sit in a cell called The Sky. Its a 7x10 pitch black room with a bed and you have to sit there until the other girl returns. I thought this was interesting because it's very cruel and shows how bad of an enviornment this is for them.

If you want to learn more about neo-nazis and white supremacy in small southern towns and the horrible lifestyles they live then this is a good book for you.
2. What I've found interesting is that the author chose such a dark and dreadful topic. I think she had personal experience with this in her small southern town so she wanted to show how bad and horrible it is. I also found it interesting that she uses flashbacks a lot in the story to help move it along and give background information and context to certain situations.
