In accordance with their “divide and conquer” strategy, the Arabs sent a crown to the Armenian Prince Ardzrouni to recognize 3 the authority of a second kingdom in Armenia. The Ardzrounis wished for an independent kingdom and, by accepting the crown sent to them from the Arabs, there was a period of time with two Armenian kingdoms under the Ardzrounis and the Bagratunis.
