The Quakers were often poor because of their beliefs,but mostly it was the refusal to fight for the king.In 1674 a group of Quakers led by Edward bought Berkeley's share of New Jersey.While New Jersey was being sold to groups of Quakers,king Charles II gave a charter to William who had become a Quaker.The English king granted the region because the king owned a debt for Penn's father.Penn wanted to call his colony Syluania,which means" woods."

This is about how the Colonies are growing and developing. In North America the dutch decided to build there own settlement and there own colony. And it was called New Netherland. And the parts that were their today are New York,New Jersey,and Delaware. The Dutch went to the area were Henry Hudson was at and then claimed the country Holland his in 1609. That country that the Dutch was going to claim was were Henry Hudson was at. The Dutch arrived in the land that he claimed years later. In 1626 the Dutch started to build a fort and laying out a town in Manhattan. And a island that's in New York Bay,And they called this settlement New Amsterdam.

While in New Jersey was being sold to groups of Quakers, King Charles II gave the Charter to William Penn, who had become a Quaker. The Charter made Penn a proprietor of Pennsylvania. Penn also became the owner of Delaware, The assembly met in 1704 for Delaware. Indian leaders respected Penn and believed he was their friend. That is how colonies are devloping.

The market town has many different things in it. there is a general store,cobbler,gristmill,sawmill all of these places in the town have some things that all people in the town need.the general store has tools,cloth,shoes,stockings, and buttons.Near there was a cobbler that made and repaired shoes.nearby there was a gristmill were they ground the flour and meal. then there was a sawmill were the logs were cut into lumber.In the market town every thing was close by so every body was friendly with each other.
