His significance was that he united Upper and Lower Egypt by marrying the queen of Lower Egypt. He wanted to control Lower and Upper Egypt but he didn't want to just invade because that wouldn't give him loyalty.  He was going to not invade and he was going to marry the queen of  Lower Egypt.
