We discussed in our last lesson ways of having a more sustainable Christmas feast. In our tradition we don't eat any meat or milk products 40 days before Christmas. Fish is allowed according to the orthodox church. Taking part in this fasting preparation for Christmas we also eat sustainable. Less meat consumption reduces CO2 in our atmosphere and leaves more land for planting cereals, vegetables and fruits.

At my home we celebrate all December. We have some traditions from my parents country, as San Nicola on 5th. We also celebrate Santa Lucia on 13th and my dad's birthday on 14th. Also Christmas Eve and of course Christmas. Every year we do a New Years Eve party with friends.

Christmas is not a feast for my religion, because i am Muslim. During the Christmas holidays I was with my family and ate some traditional foods: 'couscous, msemmen, etc...:'. I ate, talked and played with my family and wished Christmas to my friends who were celebrating it.

Pandoro, panettone and many Santa Clauses

during the Christmas period in Italy you can see many Santa Clauses hanging from people's balconies and they eat the typical Christmas sweets, pandoro and panettone but personally I prefer pandoro with mascarpone but not panettone because I don't like candied fruit

Beim Spaziergang kannst du Zweige, Moos, Kiefernzapfen sammeln und daraus feierliche Weihnachtsdekoration aus Naturmaterialien kreieren. Auch den Baumschmuck kannst du leicht selber machen. Mit getrockneten Orangen- und Apfelscheiben, Strohsternen und Salzteig-Anhängern lässt sich jeder Weihnachtsbaum veredeln.
