Born: December 1840
I started out as a run-away from my father who was trying to get me to marry a farmer. From there disguising myself as Franklin Thompson kept me hidden in my new home, Flint, Michigan. Being disguised I could best serve the interest of the Union cause in male attire.

I started off as a run-away living in Connecticut where I then moved to Michigan where the war began. My male friend and I then enlisted in the 2nd Michigan Volunteer Infantry me being disguised as Franklin Thompson. I started out as a nurse and courier, but because of my skills of riding and shooting, I also got to serve as a spy and experience some combat and battles. I even once disguised as an African-american male to join a confederate camp.
