This was my first visit on the BenCam Museum at first it's was more than just looking at pretty pictures; it was a chance to me to connect what I'm learning with the pictures with the world around me. As a first year criminology student, I'm have a hobby to looking for soem of the patterns, hidden meanings, and the stories behind things. Then i realized the art works at BenCam gave me a lot to think about.

The first one that really stood out was a painting with strong shadows and bright highlights. The way the artist used light and dark reminded me of crime scene photos. You need good lighting to see all the details – the same way investigators need to carefully examine evidence. The contrast in the painting also made me think about how easily things can be hidden or misinterpreted, just like in a crime. A criminal might try to hide something in plain sight, and it's up to investigators to find it.

And , a sculpture, had a really unsettling feeling to it. It wasn't scary, but it made me uncomfortable, kind of like how I imagine being at a real crime scene would feel. The artist used shapes and textures that created this uneasy mood. It made me think about the impact of crime on people – not just the victims, but everyone involved.

I also noticed how some artists used repeated symbols in their work like in the INTERLOCKING FORMS. This reminded me of sometimes that leave patterns or clues behind. As a student , we learn to spot these patterns – it's like a puzzle, and the artist's symbols were like pieces of that puzzle.

In my conclusion, my first visit to the BenCam Museum wasn't just about enjoying art; and watching the artworks and I think it also involves making connections to the artworks and try to understand each meaning. I saw how art can reflect society and the experience, and how this things connect to the study of every mystery. The way artists use light, shadow, color, and symbols to create a meaning is similar to how a student or criminologist use clues to solve crimes and problems. For me both art and criminology are about observing, interpreting, and understanding the world around us, even the parts that are hidden or unsettling. It was a really a nice and interesting experience, and it gave me a new perspective on both art and my studies as a fiest year student of UC and yes ICan.
