I have about 3 years of teaching experience: 2 years in Japan as an ESL/EFL teacher, a summer in Korea teaching at an English immersion summer camp, and 2 years on and off with SUSD's Japanese classes as a long-term substitute and an Instructional Support Specialist. I never thought I would go into teaching - and in fact swore to myself during middle school that I would never be a teacher - and lo and behold, I now teach middle school Japanese. I grew into the idea of becoming a professional teacher while working in Japan and I have enjoyed every step along the way.
