         <title>Macronutrients</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are 3 main Macronutrients. These are Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats.</p><p><br/></p><p>Carbohydrates - Carbohydrates are one of the main macronutrients and should be the most consumed in a diet. They are what gives the body energy naturally. Some food with carbohydrates includes pasta, potatoes and bread.</p><p><br/></p><p>Proteins - Proteins are another one of the main macronutrients. They are what helps in growth and repair of muscles and the body. Some food with proteins includes beef, pork, fish and eggs.</p><p><br/></p><p>Fats - Fats the final macronutrients and can be considered a bad thing. They are the source of vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E, K and omega 3 and 6. These vitamins all have their own individual use and benefit for the body. For example Vitamin D helps with regulating the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. Some food with fats includes butter, cheese and ice cream. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Micronutrients</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are two types of micronutrients which consists of vitamins and minerals. </p><p><br/></p><p>Vitamins - Vitamins are important for the body to function and remain healthy. These Vitamins include Vitamins A, D, E, K, Omega 3 and 6. Vitamin A is what is needed to fight off illnesses and diseases. This is by supporting and helping the immune system. Vitamin A can come from oily fish, cheese and eggs. Vitamin D is what is needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. Usually vitamin D is absorbed through sunlight but during the autumn and winter there isn't enough sunlight therefore food such as oily fish, red meats and egg yolks can be a good source of Vitamin D. Vitamin E is needed to maintain healthy eyes and skin. It can also help strengthen the immune system. A good food source for vitamin E is plant oils, corn, nuts and seeds. Vitamin K is needed for the body to help the blood when clotting and for helping the wound heal. Vitamin K is found in foods such as broccoli, spinach and vegetable oils. All vitamins are organic compounds and are made from plants and Animals and can be broken down.</p><p><br/></p><p>Minerals - Minerals are important for the body and to be able to function properly. These minerals include Calcium, Iron and Iodine. Calcium is needed for helping build bones and keeping teeth healthy. Calcium can be found in milk, cheese and bread that uses fortified flour. Iron is needed for making red blood cells which are used to carry oxygen around the body. Iron can be found in red meats, dried fruits and beans. Iodine helps with hormones and keeps the metabolic rate healthy. A good source of iodine is from foods such as cow’s milk, eggs and shellfish. All minerals are inorganic compounds and are made from soil or water and get absorbed by animals and plants.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Nutritional Requirements</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The nutritional requirements are what is needed to have a well balanced diet. The essentials for a balanced diet are to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Try and make sure to eat high fibre food such as pasta and potatoes. Make sure to eat some dairy foods and/or some dairy alternatives such as soya drinks. Make sure to eat plenty of protein such as meats and fish and beans.</p><p>The non essentials for a balanced diet are to not eat food that are high in sugars. For example, sugary sweets and chocolate are high in sugars. Try not to eat foods that are high in fats. For example, pecan pie and butter are very high in fats. Try not to eat food that is high in salt. For example, foods such as pretzels and some tinned fish like anchovies and sardines.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Balanced Diet</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The well balanced diet means to have a recommended daily amount or an RDA. Every bit of food has an RDA and if exceeded it can be unhealthy and shouldn’t be exceeded. Safe Intake is the recommended amount of food and calories a person their weight and their height should consume. Over or under consumption can lead to being overweight or underweight. The estimated average requirements or EAR is the average daily intake estimated to meet the requirements of 50% of healthy individuals.</p>]]></description>
