He was born on January 25, 1927, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At first, this genius was directed to architecture. But when he turned 20, the music lured him to nightclubs to play the piano and to work in recording studios. His first recourding was in 1954, accompanying singer Bill Farr. And his first great success was until 1956 when, together with the poet Vinicius de Moraes, he wrote part of the music for a play called "Orfeo da Conceição".

Jobim´s success outside of brazil came in 1962 when Stan Getz had a surprising hit with his song "Desafinado"; a year late, Jobim and several others brazilian musicians were invited to participate in a show at "Carnegie Hall".

During his musical career he had many successes.

He died on December 8, 1994 in New York, after suffering a postoperative embolism that caused him to go into cardiac arrest.

Jobim's body was sent to Brazil on December 9, 1994 and he had a funeral on December 13 in Rio de Janeiro. His family and friends attended the funeral. On December 20, 1994, he was buried in the São João Batista cemetery in Rio de Janeiro.

She funded "Eva Perón Foundation" wich supported by voluntary business ontributions and substantial cut of national lottery. It were usead to establish hospitals, schools and orphanages.
 
She helped anact a  lot of reforms an policies to the lower economic classes. Also she helped bring about the passage of Argentina´s women´s suffrage law.

Her life inspired for writing a lot of Argentine books.
