         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>My Last Lecture<br><br></strong>Knowledge is the key for successful life. The knowledge that we chase is not only in a form of theoretical and practical knowledge, but the knowledge on being a good human being as well. Having a PhD in specific knowledge is not enough without a knowledge to be PhD holder that beneficial to society.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Love the knowledge. As a human being, we continuously learning through our everyday experiences. We must appreciate the knowledge that we learn. One way is to show our appreciation to our own knowledge is by avoiding repeating the same mistakes. The person who keep on repeating the same mistakes is the person that fail in life.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Be generous about our knowledge. Knowledge is meant to be shared to others. We need to disseminate the knowledge so that we, our family, our friends and even our nation get the benefits from it. Being a group of intellectual is way better than being the only intellectual in the group. By educating others we are actually educating ourselves.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Never give up on educating others. Sometimes we do encounter difficulties during educating others. Some people are difficult to be thought. They refuse to adapt to new knowledge because they have different perception and expectation from us. When we feel exhausted and nearly gave up to educate this kind of person, just bear in mind that our future world will be rule by these people and it’s our responsibility to shape them so that the future for our own offspring is in good hands.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>3 aspects in university teaching and learning </strong><br><br>There are 3 aspects in university teaching and learning that I think are critically important to be shared with your colleagues. The first one is the curriculum, the second one is the teaching and learning process and the third one is mentoring process.</div><div><br></div><div>For me it is very crucial for a new lecturer to be aware on the type of curriculum adapted in the university. For example, in UNIMAS, the curriculum is very much influenced by constructivism philosophy. The implementation of objective-based education is the one way of showing the constructivism in UNIMAS. This type of education system focusses on the chronological objectives that need to be achieved in each level such as in university level, program level and course level.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The lecturer also need to know proper ways to execute teaching and learning process. The lecturer must be alert with few methods in instructional design, for example Gagne and ADDIE method. This is very important to ensure the proper order during implementing some pedagogical delivery method during teaching and learning process. The type of assessment also one of important thing to be aware of. Different type of assessment such as summative and formative assessment have different way of execution and lead to different outcomes.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Aside from educational aspect, the lecturer also need to be aware of student phycological aspect. Mentor-mentee program is one of effective platform to nurturing good relationship between the lecturers and the students. As a lecturer, we need to at least know the basic mentoring skills. WDEP (want, doing, evaluate, planning) method can be used to analyse the mentee during mentoring session. Aside from mentoring skill, the lecturer also has to know and implement other skill such as facilitating and coaching skills.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>A nature of Teaching: Art or science?</strong><br><br>In my opinion, my nature of teaching incorporating both art and science elements.&nbsp; The setup of curriculum need tidiest and organized planning. It involves proper execution of operational plan, the content and the assessment plan. So as for me this part has a sense of science because for setting a curriculum its required step by step planning and execution process that must be parallel with certain standards and guidelines from established bodies.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><br></div><div>In other hand, even though some the pedagogical delivery methods can be broke down according to certain instructional design, such as Gagne and ADDIE methods, but the carry out of delivery methods for me are much into art. For instant, during a lecture, as a lecturer we need to alert with our own body language and emotion so that the students will not be distracted during the lecture.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The 3D model as shown in the picture modelized the definition of my teaching nature. The symmetrical part illustrates the sense of science in and the asymmetrical part shows the unpredictable sense of art in my daily teaching style. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
