- The test consists of five figures and one of the figures displayed in disarranged parts.
- The subject has to decide which of the figures displays the pieces joined together.

- Limitations:
The test points out only the visual perception of the person, often people aren't good at this (me), though this doesn't reflect the mental capabilities as a whole, rather it's an isolated way of estimation.   • A clock lost 2 minutes and 36 seconds in 78 days. How many seconds did it lose per day?
Limitations: 
Unfair to non-English speakers. 
Tests are arbitrary and unnecessarily repetitive.

· The WAIS-IV was unveiled in 2008. The new WAIS includes four index scores: verbal comprehension index, working memory index, perceptual reasoning index, and the processing speed index. These four indexes are combined, weighted and averaged to derive the full scale IQ score on the WAIS.

·Typical Test Questions:
For example, a test taker might be asked to say what the words "apple" and "orange" have in common. Of course, the correct answer is that both are fruits. This would garner the full two points whereas a less focused answer ("they're both food") might receive one point.

·There have also been reports of certain subtests being left out of the testing altogether due to time and cost constraints.  While administering only a few of the subtests will allow a test administrator to estimate an IQ close to what the real IQ is, administering the testing this way tends to be less accurate than the administrator thinks.

 The test includes two different abilities: gross movements of the arms, hands and fingers and a fine motor limb, also called fingerprint dexterity.
You will use both hands at the same time. Pick up a pin from the right-handed cup with your right hand, and at the same time pick up a pin from the left-handed cup with your left hand. 
Physical and Occupational therapists use the Purdue Pegboard for injury rehabilitation. They use the test as a tool to obtain baseline data on a patient. They also use it to document patient progress and / or degree of disability.

  In many testing situations a definite amount of time is allowed for work on the test material. This is so-called time limit technique. It is economical in terms of the time consumed and has appeared satisfactory for achieving reliable and valid measurement. The time limit score obtained in standard time is termed the power score in our discussion. In certain testing situations the subject is allowed to try all the items. Ample or unlimited time is given. Such a score is here termed a level score. In still other situations the total time taken to finish the test is recorded. This is so-called work limit method of measurement. The score obtained by this technique is here termed speed score.

Its six subtests (i.e., Pictorial Analogies, Geometric Analogies, Pictorial Categories, Geometric Categories, Pictorial Sequences, and Geometric Sequences) measure the ability to find relationships among pictures of familiar objects and unusual geometric designs. Test takers simply point to their answers; no manipulation of objects, reading, writing, or oral responses are required to take the test.

Nonverbal intelligence tests measure nonverbal reasoning. They are used to assess students who have language processing problems or those with limited English proficiency.

Non-verbal reasoning involves the ability to understand and analyse visual information and solve problems using visual reasoning. For example: identifying relationships, similarities and differences between shapes and patterns, recognizing visual sequences and relationships between objects, and remembering these.

About limitations of the test (personal idea), I am of the opinion that it can’t be that much complete and suitable to be considered as pre employment test, since it doesn’t include questions about work experience and some other needed information such as psychological features or interests.
