The black death killed one in three people. Some of the 'cures' for the black death were quite absurd and had no logical reason as to why it would actually 'cure' the disease.

Vinegar and water- When a person got the plague they had to be in a bed, well they should be. They would be washed over with a mix of vinegar and rosewater.

Lancing the buboes- The buboes associated with the black death were to be cut open for the disease to leave the body. The places where there were buboes that had been cut open would have a mixture of tree resin, roots of white lilies, and dried human excrement applied to them.

Bleeding- back then they assumed that the disease was carried through the blood, so the veins that lead to the heart would be cut open to allow the disease to leave the body.An ointment should then be applied to the wounds afterwards

Diet- You should not eat food that goes off easily and smells bad like meat, cheese and fish. Stick to eating bread, fruits, and vegetables.

Sanitation- All streets should be clean from both animal and human waste. Then it should be burnt in a cart outside the village. All bodies should be buried and their clothes should be burnt.

Pestilence medicine- roast the shells of fresh lad eggs, and then grind it until it's a powder.Chop up the leaves and petals from marigold flower.Add the egg shells and marigold.Add some treacle and put over a warm fire. The affected person should drink this every morning and night.

Witchcraft-Put a live hen next to the buboe to bring out the pestilence from the body.To aid yourself, drink a glass of your own urine twice a day
