Being the highest since 2010, the annual average resident unemployment rate in 2016 is 3%. As lesser younger people enter the workforce and more retirees,  unemployment rate increases. Furthermore, some job seekers cannot find jobs that they are qualified for. Singapore must create more jobs for these people that are always seeking for jobs that need their skills.

SG GDP drop by 1.30% in the first quarter of 2017 over the previous quarter. GDP Growth Rate in Singapore averaged 6.81% from 1975 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 37.20% in the first quarter of 2010 and a record low of -13.50 % in the fourth quarter of 2008.
