Cheese-Rolling and Wake is an annual event held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper's Hill. This tradition from UK (United Kingdom) has been known since 1826, even then it is believed to be at least 600 years old. This event not only held by the villager, but also people from a wide range of country where they take parts on the competition as well. The ceremony was originally held on Whit Monday, but was later moved to the Spring Bank Holiday.

The goal of the competition is for the competitors to start racing down the hill, chasing after the cheese. The first person over the finish line wins the cheese. Multiple races will be held during the day with seperate events for men and women. However, these cheese can reach a quite high speeds with it's weight around 7-9 pound (3-4 kg) which is enough to knock over and injure a spectator.

In 1993, sixteen people were injured while four of them are serious. They run chasing cheeses down the hill with its one-in-three gradient (18.4 degrees). In 2009, safety concerns were raised, leading to the cancelling of 2010 event. This event countinued without official management or planning alongside the Council Safety Advisory Group. But in 2020 and 2021, the cheese rolling event was cancelled as a result of COVID-19 pandemic. This event returned once again in 5 June 2022, ending a two year absence.

The steepness and uneven surface of Cooper's Hill, there are usually several injuries each year. Ambulance have previously provided first aid cover, however this stopped in 2012 when the event was no longer being officially managed. Canadian competitor Delaney Irving won the ladies race in 2023, despite finishing unconscious, and only learning of her victory in the medical enclosure. A total of six competitors were transported to hospital by ambulance treatment following the event. These lack of official medical provision on site, leading to concerns from the local resilience forum about the safety of the event.

This conclude that the cheese rolling event is indeed result of a long tradition and enjoyed by many people around the world. But, this not to be continued as the event is no longer official and may cause injury and medical issue with low paramedic attention. It could be dangerous not only for the spectators, but also the competitors. If this event is about to be held again officially, it's recommended to change the cheese to other softer material for safety reason.

Firstly, these platforms contribute to a significant increase in addiction rates, which can result in devastating consequences for individuals and their families. Research shows that gambling addiction leads to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies, with a disproportionate impact on vulnerable populations. Secondly, online gambling websites facilitate illegal financial transactions, often evading taxation and enabling money laundering. This concerns the law of Pasal 27 ayat (2) UU ITE jo. Nevertheless, undermines the country’s economic stability and the integrity of its financial system. Furthermore, despite existing regulations that prohibit gambling in Indonesia, the ease of access to these websites has made enforcement difficult, rendering laws ineffective and creating a sense of lawlessness.

By blocking online gambling websites, the government can reduce addiction rates, protect the national economy, and ensure the integrity of legal frameworks. It can also contribute to social problems such as family breakdown and crime. The government themselve has a responsibility to protect its citizens from these harms. Therefore, it is crucial for Indonesia to take decisive action in blocking these websites to safeguard public welfare and the nation’s stability.
