1. what's your hometown? ( where do you live? )
I was born and raised in Hanoi which is the capital city of Vietnam.
this place is well-known for ancient temples, citadels, authentic museums as well as many spectacular landscapes. Hanoi also attracts tourists to the 36 hustling and bustling streets with plenty of shops with varied options from food to clothes.

2. please describe your hometown a little.
Hanoi is well-known for ancient temples, citadels, authentic museums as well as many spectacular landscapes. Hanoi also attracts tourists to the 36 hustling and bustling streets with a variety of special cuisines like pho, banh mi, and especially bun cha, have you ever tried them? it's very delicious, right?

3. what do you like about Hanoi City?
I feel pretty fortunate to be living here. because you know I got access to pretty much any amenity that you can possibly think of, right? and it's very modern. it's very convenient to live here. and I'm a foodie as well. I have a fascination for eating and trying different cuisines. you know Hanoi has a variety of Cuisines and I can try as many kinds of food that I can think of.

4. has that city changed over the years?
well, I didn't really pay attention, but the most striking change is probably the fact that it has gotten more polluted and hotter, so much hotter than before. I think it's the same situation for a lot of megacities that are growing. but Hanoi definitely has a lot more residential areas, apartment complexes, and skyscrapers. so I think it's kind of a nice thing to have, but at the same time, the infrastructure cannot really you know accommodate that many people, it's a good and bad thing and also it's getting more polluted over time because of the volume of the traffic on the road as well. so I hope that in the future, some things should be done about the congestion issues over here. so that would definitely help with air pollution problems as well

5. is there anything you dislike about your hometown?
oh. there's one thing called a specialty in Hanoi that I think everyone doesn't like, including you and me, which is the problem of traffic jams. it can take me hours to get to the company with only a 10 km distance at peak times. but Hanoi has a policy to move people away, so I hope this issue will be improved in the coming up

6. do you think you will continue living there for a long time?
well, the future is not certain, so I cannot say definitely everything about it. I am a lover of nature and peace. So, perhaps I want to move to the breathtakingly mountainous areas when I get old

1. do you like playing sports?
well, I would consider myself a pretty athletic person. so naturally I have an affinity for all sporting activities. My favorite is jogging because, you know, It not only helps me stay in shape but also has many health benefits

2. what sports are most popular in the country?
I guess football is kind of a big deal in Vietnam. I mean, it's the most popular spectator sport. when it is football season, like August, for example, when the Premier League takes place, football fanatics usually go to watch the matches at the cafe and root for their favorite team

3. do you think it is important to play a sport?
obviously, I think playing sports is a fantastic way to get fit. because it involves a lot of physical activities. nowadays, most people lead a sedentary lifestyle and tend to shy away from the gym. For these people, I believe sports would be an energizing way to get some exercise

Of course. I think it’s essential for everybody to take up a sport, because, you know, as I mentioned before. Playing sports brings great benefits to your health. It helps to lower the risk of modern diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and heart attack.

4. what sports do you like to try in the future?
I would love to have a crack at skydiving in the future, Free Falling from enormous altitudes looks like a lot of fun, as much as I'm scared of heights. a while back, I almost gave bungee jump a go, but in the end, I kind of chickened out

5. What are some sports you have never played? Why?
I have never played hockey because it is not a popular sport in my country and there are no ice rinks in my nearby vicinity. Also, I have never tried water polo, because I’m not very good at wading in water.

6. Do you prefer team sports or individual sports? Why?
well, Actually I enjoy both of them. I like team sports because I get to interact with my teammates and share in the fun, and I like to play solo as well because I can take all of the glory of the win and not worry about losing because another player is making mistakes.

7. Why do you think people play sports?
well, it totally depends on each person's different goals. Some simply play for the love of competition. Many play to find a purpose in life. Others play to release stress, lose weight or improve their general health. All of these represent healthy, positive attitudes toward the sport.

8. Do you think students need more exercise?
Well, I don’t have precise figures but I think the number of children being overweight and leading a sedentary lifestyle has increased. Therefore, I do think that students should work out more often

9. Where did you learn how to do it?
Well in my country, jogging is a ubiquitous sport, and almost every individual can do it in their life without having to take any training course. It’s the same thing in my case. but sometimes I also consult some techniques from professional athletes to make sure my effort paid off

10. Did you do some sports when you were young?
I used to play a few sports during my student years such as badminton, basketball, and endurance running. I learned them in elective physical lessons and usually sailed through the exams with flying colors

1. what's the weather like where you live?
Well, Vietnam is a tropical country, so it's pretty much hot and humid year-round. however, in Northern like Hanoi, we actually enjoy four distinct seasons. so in summary months, it can get really sweltering and by contrast, temperatures can really dip in winter

2. what type of weather do you like best?
I think every season has its own unique beauty and it's up to us to enjoy it. I'd consider myself a cold-weather person. I love the crisp morning at the end of fall and the chill of winter. maybe it's because I have to bundle up as the weather turns cold, and I love wearing sweaters and overcoats

3. does the weather ever affect what you do?
you know, I gotta say yes, especially when it rains. I mean, I can not go out and run my errands if it's pouring outside. the roads get really slippery, so it's quite dangerous to drive. besides, you will definitely be soaked if you do decide to go out

4. Do you do different things in different weather?
Yeah, I sure do. I mean I do a lot of exercises during the summertime. But when it comes to winter, when the weather is bleak, the sky looks so grey and dull and because of the thick cloud cover, I find myself so draggy and completely not productive at all

5. Would you prefer to live in a place that has the same weather all year, or a place that has four seasons?
I must say that I am lucky to have four seasons to enjoy although the sharp distinction among seasons is slowly disappearing in the North. It’s kind of boring to me if we have only just one season all year, like the Southern part of Vietnam, the weather is hot all year round and only have two seasons which are the rainy season and dry season.

6. Do you think the weather is more important to people who play sports?
Absolutely yes, especially people who play outdoor sports are most affected. For instance, has a significant impact on the performance of athletes. High temperatures can cause various heat illnesses such as heat cramps and heatstroke, while very low temperatures may lead to hypothermia.

7. How is the weather today?
Well, I think today is a lovely day, even though it rained a little bit this morning. When I got out of the house, the weather seemed to brighten up and I hope it will stay like that for the rest of the day.

8. Does the weather affect people’s lives in your country?
I believe that the weather always affects us in every aspect. If it is a gloomy day, I'm pretty sure everyone will easily get bored or tired of whatever they are doing. In contrast, sunny days make us feel alive and upbeat.

9. Do people change in the summer?
It can get sweltering in the summery months, so I think it will exert a certain impact on people's temperament. Everyone becomes less patient than usual, and they often get frustrated and easily get upset over trivial matters.

10. Have you ever been in very cold weather? [When?]
Yes. I visited northern Vietnam some years ago, but I am not sure about what the temperature was like. In wintertime, I wore a lot of clothes to keep myself warm. It was freezingly cold.

1. what's your favorite color?
I'm a real sucker for all things blue. I love every shade of it from the brighter shades like electric blue to the more subdued ones like navy. in fact, the bulk of my wardrobe is blue

2. Why do you like it?
it's very hard to nail down the reason why I like it, it's just my taste. But when it comes to its meaning, It is the color of the ocean and the sky; it often symbolizes serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom, or health. It can be a calming color and strand for reliability. That's what I'm always aiming for

3. are there any colors you dislike?
I would have to say that when people wear overly bright colors like neon, for example, it bugs me a lot. I think those people have terrible taste in clothes

4. are there any colors that have a special meaning in your country?
yeah, I guess I mean white usually symbolizes purity and innocence. so it is the color of choice for weđings and school uniforms. by contrast, dark colors like gray or black often suggest sorrow or suffering, so I guess that's why a lot of people wear black to funerals

5. Was this color your favorite when you were a child?
Although my whole childhood is associated with the white school uniform, outside of school hours, I usually like to wear black clothes because I think it's cool.

6. Do you like to wear dark or bright colors?
bright colors are my favorite outfit of choice daily. I am always full of beans whilst wearing these colors. My favorite color of choice is a blue shirt with a light white skirt. That combination of colors makes me more energetic. And when you are in a happy mood, you will feel much more confident and be far more productive.

7. What do you think you can learn about people from the colors they like?
I suppose you might learn a little about their personality, such as whether they’re quite expressive or creative, or whether they are introverted or extroverted. But I don’t think you can learn too much about a person just from the colors that they like.

8. What’s the difference between men's and women's preferences for colors?
Honestly, I don’t think there’s much of a difference between the colors men like, and those that women prefer. Culturally, it’s assumed that girls like pink while boys are generally associated with blue, but this is broadly a societal preference, not a personal one. Actually, I do have some male friends who indeed love wearing pink and yellow

9. Which color do most people like in your country? = What’s the most popular color in Vietnam?
Hmm, I don’t know if any colors are particularly popular. I think it depends on each person’s personality. Some people like bright colors while others prefer dark ones.

10. What color would you choose for your room?
well, last year in summer I got my room painted, instead of using the dark colors like in the past. I chose navy blue and combine it with some cloud motifs. you can imagine, you are able to immerse yourself in the vast ocean that is cooler than other rooms which are painted hot colors.

1. Do you like shoes?
to be honest I'm not much of a shoe enthusiast. so I don't consider it as a hobby but only for commuting or jogging. some of my friends are crazy about shoes, though. They love to read about footwear from books, blogs, and so on

2. Do you like buying shoes?
although I'm not a huge fan of shopping, I really don't mind purchasing a decent pair of shoes. I sort of treat shoes like they are a part of my body, and if I can find the right ones, I know that I have probably made a great improvement in my life

3. are people willing to buy expensive shoes?
I think so, yeah. Some people are really loaded and willing to splurge on nice shoes. But at the same time, some are quite frugal like me who would typically ( I often ) shy away from the big brands because of their stratospheric prices.

4. Which do you prefer, comfortable shoes or fashionable ones?
I definitely value comfort over looks. I mean, as a tour guide, I do a lot of walking, and wearing shoes that are too snug, for example, would blister my feet. so I often wear really comfy shoes like sneakers for example.

5. do you buy shoes from online shops?
from time to time, yes, but I always try to go to a brick-and-mortar store and try on the shoes in person. I mean, my feet are pretty weird, so I might wear different sizes for different brands

6. how much money do you usually spend on shoes?
have you ever heard of the expression, which is "you get what you paid for"? I know from past experiences that cheaper shoes really mean poorer quality and a shorter life span. so why not when spending a few extra bucks on a comfortable long-lasting pair? that's why I have no regrets about buying high-quality shoes that have above-average prices

1. do you usually write by hand? (Do you write a lot?)
Not really anymore. these days, I find myself typing a lot on computers and texting on my phone, so I rarely use paper and a pen anymore. that said, I still have to jot down notes in class because laptops are not allowed. I think it's a pain, really.

Well, I am fond of writing. I have the habit of jotting down everything that is important coz I have a memory like a sieve. Writing it on my notepad is the safest way.

2. do you think handwriting will be replaced by computers?
well, you know, in this day and age, modern technologies have largely marginalized handwriting, and you don't see people writing my hand as much as they did in the past. But I believe that handwriting is a nice personal touch when you’re giving someone a card for their birthday or another occasion.

3. is it still necessary to keep handwriting?
( Do you think handwriting is important? )

definitely, I think it's important to teach young kids to handwrite. I think handwriting exercises really do wonders for their cognitive development. for example, my brother who has really beautiful handwriting is a brilliant kid.

4. what impression does a people's handwriting have on other people?
I think in Vietnam handwriting can speak volumes about somebody's personality. if you have neat handwriting, people tend to think that you are a good-hearted person. on the other hand, if your writing is unintelligible, they may think badly of you. it's quite an antiquated way of thinking, I guess

5. do you prefer to write by hand or write using the computer?
( Which do you prefer, handwriting or typing? )

it depends. I often use the computer for work because it's very convenient, but for practice for the IELTS test or to show some respect, I will write by hand, for example, wedding or birthday card

Well to be honest with you, my preference just varies in different circumstances. If I’m pressed for time, typing is obviously much more convenient. On the other hand, I tend to choose handwriting if I just write something at home coz looking at the paper is better than staring at the screen for a long time, you know, when it comes to protecting eyes.

6. when do children begin to write in your country?
Vietnamese kids start learning to write at the age of around 5 to 6 which is considered quite early by some European experts. but Vietnamese kids know how to do it well actually

7. What are the differences between handwriting and typing
Handwriting forces your brain to mentally engage with the information, improving both literacy and reading comprehension. On the other hand, typing encourages verbatim notes without giving much thought to the information.

8. what do you like to write? why?
I have been writing a diary since high school. The bindings of the notebooks are already fragile, but I like to read my juvenile notes from time to time. I am quite nostalgic and the diary is a blast from the past for me.

9. do you think the things you write would change?
Yeah, everything’s changing and the things I wanna write are not exceptions. Well actually, I used to write articles after school, dreaming of being a blogger in the future, but what I actually write about now has nothing to do with it at all. Perhaps I’m gonna regain the passion for writing blogs someday, or become curious about something new. Who knows?

Because we rely more on APPs for communication on smartphones, they are more instant, more convenient, and they will be more popular.

4. Do you think emails are useful?
Emails are really useful and important to me. For me, keeping my partner waiting is the ultimate thing. so I think the rapid response to newly received email is very crucial because that will show our respect to the email sender. When I have to make an important decision through email, I still respond “received” quickly, and spend time taking that issue into consideration. Then I will send another email to announce my decision.

6. Do you prefer using email or text messaging?
it depends on the situation, sending a text is much faster than sending an email. it is always at my disposal even without an internet connection, which makes texting a more accessible medium. but I think it's less solemn than email, especially at work. so I only use it in case of necessity or to communicate with acquaintances, and as for email, I prefer for exchanging and working with partners as well as the company to show sincerity and professionalism

1. Why do some people have good memories why others just don't?
well, it's a very complex question. I would say different people have an aptitude for different things. some people do appear to have a naturally good memory and can accurately summon names events and dates from thin air but find themselves absent-minded in other aspects. for example, a person might be good at memorizing numbers, mathematical equations, and other logical things but terrible at recollecting paintings or other artistic objects. that said, I think proper training will be able to make our memory function better. and come to think of it, some people have a memory like a sieve because they suffer from some brain damage or disease

2. Why do many people rely on phones to memorize things?
in a digital age, it would be a big loss if people didn't use high-tech devices to assist them to recollect important things. what I meant to say is the applications on smartphones are quite instrumental and helpful. I can type some memos and then set an alarm to remind us of what to do and when to do. on top of that, it is so time-saving and energy-saving. we don't have to memorize too many trivial things with our brain

3. Are you good at memorizing things?
well, I really don't know. I think it depends on the kinds of things we are talking about. when it comes to the things I have a lot of interest in or it happens in a daily routine. I think I can remember those things quite clearly. for example, things like the plot of my favorite movies or the stories my friends told me. however, talking about academy things like historical events or vocabularies, I will be really absent-minded

4. Have you ever forgotten sth important?
yea, of course, there were several times when I hung out with my friends. you know, I had a lot on my plate, so I clean forgotten my key on the table in the restaurants or shopping malls. fortunately, the staff kept it for me. I'm always grateful to them and tell myself to be more careful

5. do you remember the names of your childhood friends?
I can only recall the names of those who I still keep in touch with. usually, these friends are also my neighbors and my former classmates since we were kids from the same community and we went to the same high school and Junior High School. and for those I haven't met for a very long time, I still have some fragmented memories of their face, but never their names

1. What do other people in your hometown usually do on weekend?
well, you know, different people have different preferences. so I cannot say definitely anything about it. I believe that many of the individuals around me have the propensity to optimize their weekends to spend quality time with their families by cooking scrumptious meals, watching their favorite movies, and throwing intimate family gatherings. I suppose that some others choose to travel to places of amusement such as shopping malls, and restaurants to get away from hustling after their intensive working hours

2. What will you do on next weekend?
well, I'm not sure because my plans change frequently and I have a bustling schedule. so knowing what I'll do the following week is pretty tricky for me. oh. lets me see. that day is my day off. I'm not sure if you know him but he is well-known in my country for his musical abilities. I typically see him on a variety of TV shows and he also participates in humanitarian activities. I suppose he truly is a symbol of pride and prestige for our hometown

3. what are some changes in the area recently?
There have been considerable changes in the area. The most significant one is that there are more residential buildings than ever. I don’t really like it when my city is gradually becoming a concrete jungle and all the big trees on the roads have been cut down to make space for more shopping malls, which makes the summer even hotter and hotter. Besides, there has been a surge in the number of cars, which has made the city more polluted and caused serious congestion.

4. do you like the area that you live in?
yes, definitely, I feel pretty fortunate to be living here. because you know I got access to pretty much any amenity that you can possibly think of, right? and it's very modern. it's very convenient to live here. and I'm a foodie as well. I have a fascination for eating and trying different cuisines. you know Hanoi has a variety of Cuisines and I can try as many kinds of food that I can think of.

1. do you often read books? when?
I would say that I’m definitely a bibliophile. people who read tend to have a richer vocabulary and a higher level of general knowledge, so they tend to have more to talk about and are thus more interesting. so, as a tour guide, reading is a must as it helps me widen my knowledge about so many things. but I just read it a fair bit on a daily basis as a habit. I guess the main reason is that looking at a wall of text makes me feel a little bit drowsy. A book of any kind is a must-have item in my bag when I go somewhere since it can be a great activity to make good use of waiting time

I would say that I'm definitely a bibliophile. In addition, the difference in my reading habits also comes in the genre. When I was young, I only liked comics and fairy tales, but now I like reading self-help, newspapers, and academic papers more.

3. have you ever read a novel that has been adapted into a film?
Sure, actually there are many books that I enjoy that have been converted into movies.

1. What's your favorite animal? Why?
keeping dogs and cats is my cup of tea since I find them adorable and loyal. on top of that, they are really good friends which I can confide in when I have a problem as well as release my emotions. Now I'm kind of busy and you know what, raising an animal means I’m likely to go beyond my budget as I have to buy them food and other stuff. so, I don't think I can give them to have a good living standard, it's very hard for me to raise them in this interval of time. it's truly a story of coming up

2. What's the most animal in your country?
I suppose the most popular animal in my country is the dog. A lot of Vietnamese children grow up with fond memories about their puppies as their childhood best friends. Besides, you can see that there are many dog rescue groups in the main cities, which aims to save dogs from being abandoned or kidnapped.

3. Have you ever had a pet before?
Yes, I have! I used to take care of my dog 5 years back. Tong Tong is such a lovely and playful dog. He’s actually my best friend! keeping Tong Tong is good for my mood. He, of course, doesn’t speak our language but he can hear me loud and clear. He’s quite aware of my emotional needs. I always confide in him when I have a problem. He can’t help tackle the problem but at least, I can feel relieved when doing so. Unfortunately, he went away and never came back. I don’t know what happened to him. I still miss him dreadfully.

4. Where do you prefer to keep your pet indoors or outdoors?
This is a point of contention. The main issue here is that pets like dogs and other large animals can be quite noisy – and this noise can be very disturbing, especially during nighttime. Needless to say, the carefree owners of such pets have very little control over their behavior. You simply can’t stop an unruly dog from barking at night or running around the flat in a sporadic fit of joy. Another point to consider is the detrimental effects that can be a result of living in confined spaces. Without proper exercise, pets like dogs can get ill. Not all owners are aware of this, so through negligence, they can harm their pets, even if they love them. as the result, I prefer to keep my pet outdoors or own space

1. Do you wear a watch?
Yes, of course. Firstly, watches are very useful because I’m always on the go, I wear my watch every single day to check the time and arrange my hectic schedules. Also, as a fashion-conscious person, watches lend some visual interest to my ensemble. There are many types of wristwatches with different styles and designs so I can mix and match them with each of my outfits.

2. Have you ever got a watch as a gift?
My mother gave me a watch which I am wearing now. I've been wearing so for a better part of 5 years now. This is the gift I received for passing the university entrance exam – one of the most important exams in a student’s life. I don't remember exactly what brand it belongs to and how much it costs, but I don't care because for me it's priceless. I really like this watch because of its simplicity and versatility, I can literally wear it on any occasion and with any outfit.

3. Why do some people wear expensive watches?
Most people think that others buy luxury timepieces to show off. But honestly, watches can bring you so much more happiness than shallow pretentiousness. Wristwatches last through decades, becoming a companion and a sentimental possession, and they can become valuable heirlooms. In addition, some watches have been a part of milestones and historical events like the Speedmaster in space and the Rolex Explorer on Everest.

4. Do you think it is important to wear a watch? Why?
I think it depends. For those who want to be punctual, and disciplined, a time-keeping device on your body surely facilitates this. But there are also some people who prefer to use their mobile phones to check the time out of convenience. In addition, wristwatches, as I mentioned, accessorize your outfit, and give their owner a more presentable appearance, but many people prefer simplicity or some use bracelets as accessories.

what did you learn in the science class?
I studied chemistry, physics, and biology in scient classes. Some things about biology interest me, such as genetics and the process of evolution, but I soon feel out of my depth when reading about them in detail. Physics and chemistry are even worse. I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to these subjects and try as I might

do you want to know more about science?
I find myself nowadays who is more interested in culture, history, and specialties in distinct destinations. But if I have time to spare, I will also spend more time on biology because it will provide me with a strong foundation of knowledge about the surrounding environment and our beautiful Universe.

do you watch the science TV program?
No, not really. As I briefly mentioned before, anything science related is not my cup of tea. The one exception is the Discovery channel or nature or wildlife documentaries that somehow arouse my interest. Because the content is very accessible, comprehensive, and not heavily scientific.

1. do you like science?
To be frank with you, I’m not exactly a big fan of science ‘cause it’s always been a closed book to me. Though I know it helps me to acquire an in-depth understanding of the world, I always find it perplexing. Despite my best efforts, I would always struggle to get a grasp on those scientific ideas. when I was a student, I really wondered why I didn't inherit my parent's interest in science but later I realized that I was born to love arts and literature so I simply embraced that weakness of mine

2. when did you start to learn about science?
according to my recollection, I was first exposed to subjects when I was seven or eight years old in our national curriculum, primary children are introduced to some basic scientific knowledge including humans, animals, and the environment. all of which act as 'stepping stone' ideas from which official ideas will develop later. if I'm not mistaken, not until we had studied in Secondary School, did we learn something more complicated like chemistry and physics

3. which science subject is interesting to you?
to be totally upfront, I have always been interested in biology. it helps us get a better understanding about the world in its natural processes. what impressed me most is Darwin's theory of evolution which shows how humans have evolved. it also shows us an inextricable relationship between humans and nature. then encourages us to protect the environment and uses natural resources sustainable manner

4. what kinds of interesting things have you done with science?
if my memory serves me right, it was quite a while ago when I was in grade 8. I first learned about anatomy in a biology class then the teacher took us on a lap and shows us how to dissect a frog to see its internal parts. later we dissected a fish by ourselves, which was both scary and amazing. these days, I have been doing quite a lot of interesting experiments with my toddlers like milk and food coloring experiment or baking soda, and vinegar experiment

1. Did you enjoy traveling by car when you were a kid?
Well, I would say not. I'm not a big fan of car trips when I was little. the most important reason is that I can easily get car sick. I feel really dizzy and nauseous when I'm in a car for quite a long time. I remember that once I traveled with my dad for a short car trip and after one or two hours or so, I started to feel uncomfortable and one to throw up. to manage it, I walked out of the car, and I just puked. fortunately, I got rid of it when I went to college

2. What types of cars do you like?
When it comes to cars, it’s all about convenience and fashion to me. I like cars that not only play a role of a vehicle but also my fashion assistant, and a convertible is a perfect match for me. A car with a roof retracting into the body shows off a very luxurious look and a cool vibe to the user. If I had a chance to own a convertible for myself, I would definitely drive it with my head held high.

3. Do you prefer to be a driver or a passenger?
passenger, without a doubt. Being a driver means you take responsibility for everyone in the car, just thinking of that is enough to make me feel nervous that I can’t drive. On the other hand, a passenger can watch a movie on the way, even eat or take a nap. In other words, being in the passenger or back seat is stress-free. This is much more suitable for me.

4. What do you usually do when there is a traffic jam?
I know a lot of people will be frustrated but I tend to take it quite lightly. mainly because I can't do anything but wait for it when I got stuck in traffic congestion, This situation is all too familiar to every Hanoi resident on a daily basis. Instead, I will mumble one or two songs and patiently wait for instructions from the traffic police.

1. Do you feel nervous when traveling to new places?
yeah, once in a while but most of the time, I feel more excited than nervous as I can set foot in new destinations and gain interesting experiences for myself. for example, I can learn more about the lifestyle, the scenery, and some Specialties of a place which is something that I find pretty intriguing

2. Can you read a map when you travel to new places?
I would say that it depends, if you are referring to an online map, I believe I have no problem with it. it's rather straightforward and user-friendly. all I have to do is key in my destination and then my current location and within a few seconds, it will show me the route to take. but if you are referring to a paper one, it's a completely different story, I usually struggle to relate where I am is the world to the corresponding spot on the map

3. Have you ever helped someone who got lost?
oh yes, it happens quite a lot. especially when I'm walking on the road because there are a lot of holidaymakers who get lost. mind you, I'm not particularly good at giving directions because I go into too much detail

who gave you your name?
well, my parents gave me my name, my mother to be exact. Hien means gentle. to be honest, when I was a kid, my name was Huyền but I don't know the reason why my mother changed it later. I guess my parents hope that I will become a gentle and kind person when I grow up

1. Does your name have any particular (or, special) meaning?
Most Vietnamese names do, I suppose, and mine is not an exception. My name can be interpreted as gentle in disposition. So, I assume my parents did have somewhat expectations when they named me that.

2. How would you choose names for your next generation?
I haven’t thought about that yet. well, if I had a child, I might think of something unconventional to name him or her.

3. Are there any differences between how Vietnamese name their children now and in the past?
There is a huge difference, almost previous generations had named their children with the first letter in the alphabet or the “ugly” names with the belief that their kids would be healthy and nurtured easily. But turning back to the present, children’s names are a lot more creative and unique

4. Does anyone in your family have the same name as you?
No, that doesn’t happen for Vietnamese names. Unlike in western cultures, kids are often named after their family members, but we don’t do that. In Vietnam, it’ll be pretty disrespectful to call your child by the same name as your parents or grandparents.

do you like your name?
definitely, I love my name and I don't want to change it anymore. it's part of my identity and it is Meaningful to me it is also how I respect and be grateful to my parents

is it easy to change your name in your country?
well, I think yes if you have enough money and your profile. but the name change will affect related information on a credit card, name in identity records at school as well as your company therefore if there is nothing important, you should not change your name to avoid the inconvenience that can occur when your name is not consistent

4. in your country do people feel that their name is very important?
people in my country pay great attention to their names because they believe that suitable names will bring them good fortune. sometimes they even change their names for their business or family purposes

5. who is usually names babies in your country?
naming babies is usually family members such as grandparents, parents, and siblings. but there are some families who ask Monks, Priests, or Expert in order to name their children

6. do you have any special traditions about naming children?
Vietnamese Traditions when naming their children often have to sound good and meaningful. for example, Hien is gentle. the name must be consistent with fine customs and traditions. and it must not have the same name as the ancestors as well

Many people traveling in the same car means there will be fewer emissions and fewer traffic jams, and this may be a dominant way of transporting in the future.

6. How do you think people will travel in the future?
(Answer) Well I think, electric mini-bus will be the prevalent means of transport in the future. (Reason) One reason could be that it still carries the same number of passengers but is small and agile to get its way out of a traffic jam. (Example) In addition, carpooling may be a good idea (Reason) as people can not only save a great amount of money spent on fuel for their private car but also help protect the environment.
