In Othello, Iago plays the role of a heinous villain. He has a hatred for Othello, and had plans to destroy the lives of Othello and Desdemona. Iago enjoys seeking this revenge, and enjoys causing pain. He's able to take advantage of many people due to his easy convincing tactics. It is also said that Iago has a general underlying hatred for women. Even though this story is called "Othello", Iago does a lot more talking than Othello himself.

His parents, John & Mary, had lost two daughters making him the oldest child. At the age of 18, he immediately married Anne Hathaway who was six years older than him.

Shakespeare has left a great legacy behind. He is well-known for the numerous comedies, stories, and plays that he has written. These works are highly praised for their themes and content. On top of this, Shakespeare has made many contributions to the English language. For one, he introduced many new words and phrases that became commonplace in English (around 300). Because of this, he created a notion that more people should be literate and that having proper grammar and fluency was important. Shakespeare also founded the Original Globe, which would be remade in 1997, selling 368,000 tickets. Through his profound impact, individuals around the globe recognize his name without the need for background.
