For example, checks and balances ensures power not equal to one specific group. There are 3 branches of government that are involved; Judicial, Legislative, and Executive. There are 10 basic Amendments which provide protection for citizens and outline rules. The Amendments guarantee us some freedom but also guarantee safety as a U.S. citizen. Government's power includes decision making, but the last say is always the citizens. Power is equal between government and citizens, but citizens are listened to more.
