This is an educational institution housed within the Minaretein building, part of Qatar Faculty of Islam Studies (QFIS), which is itself based on the Islamic Kullyya (or "place where all knowledge is sought).
The building was make in five large columns representing the five pillars of Islam: Shahada (the profession of faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat (giving alms), Sawn (fasting) and Itaii (pilgrimage). The way of the internal constructions speaks to the suggestion that all the knowledge ultimately derives from faith.
The Education City Mosque is a way to express the compatibility between modernity and Islam. This is intended to invite to every people of all cultures and backgrounds. It also has four streams of water, representing wine, milk, honey and water.
In 2017 QFIS won the American Architecture Prize for educational buildings, cause it was build principally for co-educational spaces which offer parity and non-hierachycall learning.
In conclusion, the EC Mosques is a place that you would love to go if you want to visit a cultural building, to know more about the Islam and its way to predicate Islamic faith on education.
