For this first class, I have been told the basics of what we will be doing, and what we will be assessed on. There are roles of Director, Producer, Sound and Camera/Lighting. We also watched some short film examples in the second half of the class.

Ideas:

• Alex Williams, a 19-year old University Student with a charismatic aura and a popular smile to fit his truly kind heart, finds himself in a guilt-filled grave, all while seeing hallucinations of his accidental murder victim.

• Chris Bradley tries to figure out how he's suddenly been waking every day with a new attire, new valuables, and even new friends, all while nobody believes him.

• Tom Goff, an observer of nature and people, finds himself observing things that push time past it's limits, seeing premonitions around the things in his path, but he soon finds himself in such visions.

• Jay Samson

Me and Megan have began writing a script each based on the beat sheet, and we will compare each-other's scripts when we finish them and combine them with the best outcome.

My group also discussed some ideas and made some improvements to our short film's story.

Short Film Summary

The film begins with Alex (Johnny) who will be walking home through a park late at night from his work (shown by his untidy suit) and he seems tired and exhausted. Then, from the side of the pathway a drunk man (Stuart) gets rowdy and aggressive, blocking the path and prodding Alex. After warning the drunk man and trying to avoid him, Alex pushes Stuart out of the way, all while having a mental blackout, having flashbacks to his recent sturggles and upsetting memories. Alex realises the man has suffered a fatal impact to his head. Blood is on his head/face and on the floor. Fearful and full of adrenaline, Alex runs away back home.

Alex then wakes up late, and seems paranoid, thinking the previous night was just a nightmare. He reads some unread messages on his phone from his friend Emily, asking him to come over for lunch. He gets ready and leaves.

After getting ready, he walks to his Emily's house. However. he has hallucinations and sees Stuart several times on his walk, and he looks like the bloody corpse that Alex left him as.

Arriving at Emily's, the two start speaking about Alex's concerns. Emily doesn't believe Alex really did anything, and that it definetely was just a nightmare. However, when on their way to the pharmacy to get Alex's medication after their lunch, the pass the park, and Alex gets flashbacks and hallucinations again. Then, all while hearing asudden set of sirens, they recieve a breaking news notification of a dead man found in the park. Dun, dun, dunnnn...!

• Alex (19) works an office job, he is having a hard time in life at the point of the film which is why he snaps at Stuart, although this contrdicts his typical kind personality.

• Stuart (30) has recently discovered his wife is having an affair, and has started heavily drinking to try to forget about his worries. He is drunk in the park often.

• Emily (19) is a good friend of Alex's, and enjoys spending time with him, however she is the last person to believe Alex would do something to hurt anyone.

We will use Peel Park for the first scene and flashback shots, as well as later on in the final scene when Alex and Emily walk past the park.

Secondly, we'll film around the University Campus and some pathways.

Finally, we are going to use one of our crew's apartments (Elle's) and will use that for when Alex visits Emily.

To symbolise many when the lead character gets stressed or agitated, I will add slow motion effects and underwater sound FX, as well as some tense music.

Flashbacks will also be used, making it a non-linear narrative.
