There are 2 stages you need to follow when using a drill. The first stage is preparing to drill. There’re 7 steps in this stage. Firstly, wear safe clothing and eye protection that protect you from flying dust and debris. Secondly, wearing ear protection helps you prevent from noise when drilling. Thirdly, protect your lungs from flying debris on dust, you need wear breathing protect such as respirator regularly. Then, choosing the correct drill bit avoids breaking the bit or the material on the drilling. After that, fit the drill bit firmly into the chuck before you turn on the drill to make sure that bit is straight and secure. Next, clamp small pieces together as the drill could slip and inject you. Finally, handle the cord safety. In the second stage, you need to follow 5 steps. The first step is that drill a pilot hole because it will help prevent your drill bit from slipping, and reduce the chance of splitting wood or other damage. The second step is that drill with steady pressure and push it into the material you’re drilling. Adjust the clutch, look at the series a number on drill, you can lower or higher the torque. The third step, avoid overheating the drill bit by sticking to slow speeds and pausing occasionally to give the bit a few seconds to cool down. The final step is that don’t force a jammed bit through. If the drill gets stuck in a material.

Hi, my name is Chung, an apprentive in Honda company. Today, I am going to make a report about the incident. I witnessed at our workplace last week. The broken machine is cordless drill. Its brand is V vontox. Its model is DV23456. It’s black and red. The incident took place at 1.20 pm on 20th December and at Assembly shop No.10. Atrainee used a drill bit from the wrong material so the drill bit got stuck into the material and broke. After an initial investigation. I discovered that the trainee didn’t follow the manual instructions. To prevent similar occurrence, I suggest our company should conduct training course on safety rules for new employee and the trainee need to the manual instructions before using machine.

So what can we do to save our planet, I would like to mention some solutions as normal citizens and mechanical. First of all, we can protect the environment by the smallest activities in our daily life. For example, we can save electricity by turning off the lights whenever we don’t need it. Secondly, we can use public transport instead of private vehicles. Furthermore, we should recycle plastic bags and bottles. In the next place, as a mechanical engineer in the future, I think I should pay attention to some solutions as mentioned below. Firstly, i will try my best to invent new alternative energy.
